Recently, I was fortunate enough to get hold of a Sonor SQ1 Drum Kit in Hot Rod Red before they discounted it for newer colours. The Kit will end up being used most days by students at The School of Drumming in Woking, Surrey.

Hi Max! Yay! That's AWESOME! I've been really amazed at the sound coming off of them. The 14" Floor Tom under the Microphone sounds MASSIVE! It's incredible. I've set back up my Vintage Series. It's a different vibe to the SQ1.

Hey Oskar! Thank you so much for your kind words! I try to offer a great level of production. But so often it stops me from creating the content in the first place! Lol 😂 STORY OF MY LIFE!!! The SQ1 is a magical instrument. Things to think about might be how will you mount the rack tom? Snare stand? Tom holder? I’m a little OCD, so the Sonor 4000 Series Drum Clamps annoy me a little. They’re something not right because the Tom Arm doesn’t end up straight. First world problems! Give yourself a few hours to unbox the drums and put the heads on. It takes forever, even with the drill I used. Finally, just have fun with it. It really is massive. It sounds so good. The rubber bracket to help reduce vibrations move from the drum to the floor works a treat. Especially on the Floor Tom! I really love my SQ1. I think they might be discontinuing the Green, so get in there quickly! If not, the gold finish looks incredible. It reminds me of the Mesa Gold John Mayer Silver Sky 😍😍😍 Please send me photos of your SQ1 if you go ahead with it! I can also recommend the Vintage Series. Lovelyyyyyy Drums!

They’re pretty fantastic, but I wouldn’t say they’re any better than other high end brands. Different people like different things. I do really like how the drums are made in Europe.
