These handles are my favorite. They are molded from Tatem who was made in Connecticut but used on many of the Maine and New Hampshire axes back then as well. You can find the old catalogs. Emerson & Stevens used them for their axes I have a couple of original hangs and Tatem was the handle. Also JMTco was line made by Emerson and Stevens in Maine for James M. Tatem. They were usually Connecticut patterns. The axe would have JMTco and the either a larger A or larger B on the head as well. And as is with all e&s axes the date is under the poll the temperer is under the big P or W and the weight is in the cheek. One thing for use that handle design is my absolute favorite.

I just got my 30" heritage handle yesterday. I got the hickory due to cost restraints but am really enjoying it so far. I also had problems with the box ha ha but no stickers for me. I've yet to find a good head for it either. Keep it up bud.

I’m not saying much but I’m in the heart of Kentucky, or so. I’ve been lucky enough to find 60-80 year old antique handles that were forgotten about. I’d have to look for details but they still have the original tag from 50-60’s, kept in a climate controlled area, in a dark closet, stored correctly. The grain structure is so amazing I can’t bring myself to hang anything on em haha 😂 I’ll happily send pics? I just continue to make em out of oak or hickory, I’ve got some 100+ year old oak, some for sale too. I’ve got plenty of proof but I’m paying $3.99 for em hahaha 🤣😎👍

Have you hung anything on it? The tounge on mine is pretty small, I still don't have a head for it.

Hey bud are you not on Instagram? That looks a lot like some of the old axe handles! I really like all mine. Low weight easy to control.

I am not on Instagram, about to be though. Ya that patern hasn't been made in 100 yrs or so. Pretty cool what they do.

@@old_iron_axe_and_tool they are beautiful handles I love mine. I did have to rap a little cordage near the butt for better grip! When is or was the double bit drawing?
