Steppenwolf was one of my favorite toys as a kid. One of several examples of young me loving Kirby stuff long before I knew who he was.

I grew up on those seasons of Super Friends too! I knew Darkseid before I ever saw a Kirby comic. And I knew all these characters before I was introduced to Marvel. I dont remember watching spiderman and his amazing friends.

I was never able to buy any of the New Gods/Fourth comics on the spinner rack back in the early and mid 1970s, (with the exception of Mr. Miracle 13). My cousins and uncles talked about the New Gods comics, but they never let me read any of them. Jack Kirby was officially "cool" in Emporia, Kansas back in the early and mid-70s. I didn't get a good crack at buying the New Gods and Forever People books until decades later when I spotted a bunch of low grade and mid-grade copies at the Comics Dungeon in Seattle. And when I opened them up, my mind was blown. Although I was never into the toys and action figures, this video is sweet because you have a piece of Jack Kirby's personal collection. Jeremy Kirby has been generous with his grandfather's collection in the past, and Jack Kirby fans should be thankful. From everything I have read about Jack, it seems generosity to fans runs in the family.

Nice, had a lot of the Super Powers figure, my neighbor had all the Fourth World villains, I had Mr Miracle and Orion. We battled it out quite a lot.

Was never quite a toy guy. I had a hard enough time finding The Fourth World on spinner racks! Still, I'm glad they exist.:)

I think we are about the same age, but I must have been on the Kirby train early. I had to explain all the New God characters to my friends. Did you get the Secret Wars toys too? I had a lot of both.

i had 2 Darkseids back in the day from the Super Powers line. they didn't sell that well at the end and you could get them off the rack for $2-3 in the late 1980s up till 1991

what the parademons looked like changed a lot. in Xmen Teen Titans they're stronger with more variations in equipment . much later in Villains United there's a Parademon who breaks from his programming and becomes friends with The Secret Six

There are microscopic fragments of Kirby energy on those objects his hands actually touched. Let us know if you get any interesting dreams. I'd say many of us, especially Tom, while not having been created by Jack, are arguably redesigns of his.
