I own seven Taylor guitars also own Martins but Taylor guitars are my love in guitars ,My Taylors are 2015 614ce,2015 816ce,2015 914ce, 2018 814ceDLX v brace 2019 K-24 ce ,2019 614ce Builders edition WHB, Baby Taylor I bought these guitars new and I'm no where's finished buying more Taylors . Congratulations on your new 816ce I love my 816ce but I love all my Taylors.

So I had a bad heart attack a year ago … my wife let me get an 824ce dlx to make me feel better … It WORKED! Taylor was definitely the Best Medicine.

So cool to see this, I worked at Taylor for a few weeks but had to leave the area, I respected the company before being there, but left the campus with even more admiration for them. It’s all quality, and I miss the coffee in the break rooms.

That new Taylor is now your best guitar. (And it's going to get even better). IMHO, anyway (today I replaced the old E string on my "dreadnought" - not a Martin one - so I'm a bit "tuned into" bright fresh strings - which I normally only like after they've had some wear - so maybe I'm just more ready to love those bright new strings on the new guitar, but I think there's something more - more mids, I'm guessing - from the sound of that extra hole.) Last time I looked this up, the explanation of the physics said that the guitar's hole is "tuned to A", normally. The back and sides are stiff, and just reflect sound, and the sound board reverberates with this reflection, and then if you take the resulting little column of air described by the path of the resonator's hole, you get a little volume "diameter-wide, and dz high" - and with an area that has something to do with pi. A thin slice of air of varying pressure that gives your resonance. And they make the "resonant center" of the average guitar to be A-low by making the hole the diameter that it is (you can find a better explanation online, I'm sure). OK if I'm right about the hole determining the center / preferred frequency of the guitar, then if they add a smaller hole and make it just the right size, they're going to effectively give you something like two resonators, and the one with the smaller hole is going to favour some higher note. (And if it's an f-hole in a violin, it favours an even higher note). You might lose a bit at each hole for what you gain, but add them up and it can give a nice sound (and it sounds good to me). Ja... So then maybe you'll have to go and do your own research into Helmholz resonators to get to the real bottom of it all? (Assuming a Helmholtz resonator is even a good model for a guitar body in the first place). Oh, and I nearly got so distracted by trying to understand the next thing that I was about to say that I forgot to say one thing that stood out in Andrea's singing tonight is how good her diction was. (It's not an essential in my opinion, but good to have the choice available for when it's the right choice for some verse or song or word).

I got my 810 in 1993, and recently bought a used 314ce. They both sound amazing but the 810 sounds better

I have an 816ce - pre V Class and the neck binding and body purfling is a gorgeous flame maple. Still a Sitka Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with ebony fretboard. I am wondering why Taylor isn't doing the flame maple binding. ?

I loved taylor. I had a 214. The plain model. Mo CE. But man one day i picked it up and all the sudden hated the sound range. Sold it to help get my martin after my Breedlove was brutally assaulted and i lost the love of my life......

Thanks to the freakin covid shit that closed the clubs and bars and put me out of work for like EVER! I lost my taylor to the pawnshop. I have cheaper guitars that i pawn when im in a bind and this place will let me miss two month and as long as i pay em then and catch shit up its cool. But i had to pawn those and my taylor on that occasion i missed one payment and they kept the taylor! Not the other two just the taylor. My feelings were hurt.
