I can complete understand your feeling regarding the Macbook. The Macbook Pro M2 Max was my first new Macbook after nearly 8 years and the first with Silicon also. I was so flashed as well and never have regretted this purchase. The power is way above I need for daily usage, but it is also the feeling behind it.
I'm not a big fan of hard cases. However, with a sleeve, you can't go wrong. I've been using a sleeve from Burga and have gotten so many compliments about it. It's definitely worth it.
