Just got mine today!! Couldn’t afford the third edition I found at my bookstore but my mom found a brand new second edition at goodwill for 10 bucks!! God is so good!!
Thank you for explaining the differences. I’ve been browsing the NLT Life Application Bibles for two days now and your video was very helpful. Thank you so much!
I'm glad it was helpful! I love the NLT too. I've been in different translations for my devotions for the past couple of years and it's so refreshing being back in the NLT for my daily devotions
Yes, it is. The teal is a really pretty color too. I gave the teal edition with thumb tabs to my daughter. I mention in a follow-up video that the cover on this Bible has been wearing, but hers has been holding up well.
Really appreciate your review I saw your video review on Amazon which I thought was excellent 👍🏾 and wanted to see more of this Bible as I want to but one for my daughter. I currently have the older addition and love it but it is a bit torn and held together by tape it’s we’ll used . I may need a New one soon lol 😆 Thank you so much again for the review. ❤️🙏🏾😊
I'm glad it was helpful! I'm actually planning on doing a follow-up to this comparison. I still like this edition, but I'm a little disappointed in how the cover has worn just since the beginning of the year. I'm probably going to have to end up getting a Bible cover, which I'm really not a fan of.
You have a nice set up there for the flip through! New bibles are always so exciting. I have an nasb life app study Bible and I LOVE it! Except that if I'm achy or tired, sometimes it's too heavy for me to use. I love the verse references- whenever I'm reading on my phone app, I miss those references 😭
Raised to Walk 😂🤣 EXACTLY! Hey thanks again for letting me know about Building Hollin. I’m SO STOKED to be doing a super long readalong with Christian peeps 🥰 I just watched the first livestream and it was so fun!
@@RaisedtoWalkTV I have NLT paper back study Bible but the text is to small so it's a struggle to read but from your review I see the application study Bible has a font size that I would be able to read, so I will be ordering one as I love reading the NLT and it is my preferred devotional Bible. I have the Message, The Voice and an ESV study bible which I like to use as a reference in my research.
@@sollasollew3208 let me know how you like it when you get it. Someone else mentioned that the personal size will be coming out in the 3rd edition in April. Although if the 3rd edition text of the personal size is the same as my 2nd, it will be smaller
I just got the large print third edition NIV, and I really like it. The font is perfect for my eyes, and I had no idea I would like single-column biblical text as much as I do. Mine did come with thumb tabs - I had to be sure to pick the right edition, though. It's crazy heavy, but I am already getting used to it after just a few days. I only wish the large print NIV came in genuine leather, much as I like the brown/tan imitation leather cover. 😄
I have the second edition personal size in the NLT, I plan on ordering a copy in large print soon.I love the LASB,but the print in the one I have is WAY too small for me to read comfortably now without getting a headache.I just bought the KJV in large print, and it's so much better on my eyes. I have the Leatherlike cover,so I put my Bible in a cover to protect it from flaking apart. That happened with my personal size Bible- I had it stacked on top of another Bible, and the two of them got stuck together.I was able to separate them, but part of the cover peeled off,and is still stuck to the other one. That's why I'll always keep a Bible that isn't leather in a protective cover from now on.
Thank you SO much!! I was wondering about the difference(s) between the second and third editions. I just purchased the 2nd edition because I found one for only $23 (personal size) and I absolutely could not pass up the sale since they are normally $65+. I kind of wish I could've purchased a 3rd edition since it has color and is beautiful to look at but the important things are the words inside, so I'm okay with that. Thank you again!
Did you get the 3rd edition? How is the cover wearing? I just published a video with an update on how the cover has been wearing. Just curious if anyone else is experiencing the same thing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-shjRvBXTsro.html
I have that purple one, I got the indexed version, I also purchased the personal edition, their the best study Bibles in my opinion, I have lots of others but keep coming back to these.
I have heard the 2nd, and 3rd generation of the NLT is completely different. I actually don’t like the different colors of notes, but why would you change the format if the 2nd generation is working fine. I have not purchased the 3rd new edition since I have heard more negativity then positive. Thank you for sharing..🙏🙏
Yes, I own a Life Application Study Bible (2nd Edition). I like it very much for several reasons: (1) The notes are among the finest I've ever read. They compare favorably with notes in MacArthur's Study Bible and the notes in several other study bible's I own. I am doing a research project entitled "Scripture Passages Which Mean Much To Me" Were it not for my Life Application Study Bible, I could not do this project in its present form. Yes, I own it and completely endorse it.
Hi. I am wondering if the commentaries of the NLT Life Application Study Bible is the same as that of NIV Life Application Study Bible. Thanks ahead! God bless you!
No. I did go through a chronological study Bible in 2019 that my church did as a congregation. That version was KJV. My church bought a ton of them and were selling them for $10 each, so that's what I used. If I was just choosing a Bible to read through for personal devotions without any other considerations, I would go with the NLT
According to Tyndale, some are changed and they are expanded. I didn't notice that they were though ... but then there are a lot of resources. I did look more closely at the notes in Job, I didn't notice a difference
That's a possibility. After I recorded the video I came across something that said that they rewrote a lot of the commentary to make it address more current issues
Thanks for the video! I have never owned a LASB but I’m planning on getting one. I’m interested in the KJV; it’s currently out in 2nd edition. Anyone know if they’re planning to update it to the 3rd?
The 3rd edition of the KJV LASB came out in 2022; I just bought a large print copy. It's pretty big,but not too heavy if I have it open in my lap while I'm reading it.I got the Leatherlike cover; it does fit pretty well in an XL Bible cover,if you want to protect it from flaking.
@@TyrekeCorreawell, the 2nd edition that I have is a personal size and the 3rd edition is standard. I didn't think to look at an old listing of the 2nd edition of the standard size to see if the font was the same
@@RaisedtoWalkTV yes they are I love kjv and the NLT and then I also very much enjoy the ceb common English bible but I prefer the lines to not be crowded with words 😁 haha now I'm just bossy
Just a note. My 3rd edition is all color I think. I don't recall any b/w illustrations but the content is very similar if formatted a little differently. Very good review of a fine Bible. Thank you. 👨🏻🦳🔥♿️ MikeInMinnesota
