It's now March 2022 and it's still fine. I don't use it a lot but it still works fine when I do.

Bought the 1.5 ton version when ot came out/store opened 12 yrs ago in my area. Never bleed it and it has never failed. Not one single drop of hydraulic oil has ever leaked out since purchased. Best jack investment after always using that garbage little red jack that everyone has! The 1.5 ton version is small enough to fit in the trunk and keep it there for emergencies. Yet really tough and very well build constructed. Been using it ever since on my BMW M5 when i work on my car! Recommend it? You bet ur aszsz i do! Might even buy the blue low and long profile Daytona jack since my car is very low profile and the jack is long reach as well!

I actually bought the jack this replaced at sears. It was crap and heavy. No wonder sears finally failed. I have a "michelin" branded jack sold by Sam's club awaiting a seal kit. Seem the Michelin jack is pretty well respected too.

I have owned that same Jack for 10 years and used it professionally. Bleed it via instructions provided and it will lift faster but also make sure to use Jack stands to unload it because it's hard on the seals, mine needs rebuilt but still works.

Bleed the air should be more rapid less pumps and thats only when ur handle has enough clearance from top to bottom to get the jack all the way up in 4 pumps

Put a 3/4 piece of plywood under it or a 2 by 12 so it can roll as it lifts when working on the ground.

That would certainly be the right thing to do. Thank you for your comment.

Thanks for your info-clip and yes, I'll hang on to my cheap old 3-ton jacks instead of spending that much for something that doesn't seem to be that much better!

The rapid pump and light weight got me. Ironically a few weeks ago I picked up a nice old Michelin (sams club) all steel jack for very little in an auction lot. Bought a seal kit for it just in case...

You should use a piece of cribbing (4x4 etc) most of the time if available.

Should floor jacks be operated on dirt roads? These jacks need to be able to roll inwards as the arm raises otherwise the point of contact will slip off and the truck will come crashing down. Theres really only 4 points of contact to the ground. Once those points dig in, it will be the saddle and point of contact that will begin to move.
@thewayidoit8895
@thewayidoit8895 Год назад
Thats the correct theory of operation. However, from the time the saddle makes contact with the axle to the wheel is off the ground is a lift of about an inch or so and the jack would only have to roll forward a few millimeters. If I had jacked against the frame to lift a tire off the ground it would do as you suggest. i've done it with a car. The better way is to put a board on the ground so it can roll. many many many jack cars on gravel roads.

@MLeung-vl7we Год назад
@@thewayidoit8895 I was just speaking from my experience where the jacks starts at lowest setting and stops right before max height. For me, not too much movement for maybe first 1/2 of lifting. Then towards the top, those jack wheels better be free to roll. It happened to me once when either a pebble prevented the jack from rolling or some uneven surface. The saddle got yanked out of the support spot and car came down while the jack stayed up. Slight dent on the side panel. And yes, a board on the ground is a must.

It depends on what works for you. I bought this because it's only 63# and I frequently lift it and use it out doors. The one you are looking at is 100# and likely would be restricted to pulling on the floor. You will want to check the jacking height under the vehicle. If you watch my video you will see that when pumping a loaded jack it doesn't go right to the ground, it needs room. A former employer had an old Lincoln jack that was perfect for jacking in tight spaces. Good luck.

So far just fine. I haven"t used it a lot yet but it is good. It still is heavy compared to the smaller ton and a half jacks but they won't lift my RAM 3500. It is clearly better than my older craftsman steel jack that I bought about 10 years ago.

it is not safe to leave it there for long periods when your on grass and dirt get a long piece of 3/4 ply wood and put it under the floor jack

I'm sure that harbor freight will take it back if you are within the warranty period. If not you may be able to disassemble it and find a solution. Low oil, dirt, a torn seal etc.
