How do I protect my beloved Nintendo Switch, the Playstation 5 or even the Shiny 8k TV?
Should I use a multi outlet extension or an uninterrupted power supply? I'd say both has its place in the house.
Today we'll be taking a look at the multi outlet extension with surge protection from Legrand.
Natural Storms can knock out the power grid and fluctuations in electrical tension in the network can cause power surge in our homes.
Electrical safety at home is often overlooked and many are overloading their expensive electronic devices with cheap $10 wall plugs and unprotected power strips.
On top of that, nobody appreciates the unsightly mess of wires and power cords that comes along with these power strips and the hassle of cleaning away the collection of dust. Keeping it organized and finding a way to hide it will save you all the frustration of seeing a cluttered and messy living area or family room.
The beautiful matte black multi outlet has a total of 8 sockets with specifications depending on regional variation. Mine is the reference model 049430 having the maximum total power of 3680W at 230v.
While aesthetically pleasing it may be, there are some areas to improve and workarounds to deal with.
I was able to fit the Nintendo Switch power adapter under the cover perfectly though the smaller 2-pin adapter from Sennheiser HDR 119 II has to take up on a 3-pin socket to fit.
I feel that it would suit a small workspace area in your home for charging your smart devices or even a laptop.
However for protecting desktop computers, an uninterruptible power supply or UPS is a better solution.
