I love your voice dude you should do like a creepy story reading or something. As soon as walthers drops the new run of F40's I'm buying an Amtrak phase 3 and 3 of these, I am NOT missing out this time lol

I have a few of those cars just two coach and cafe car I had a problem with the one of the coupler it keeps popping off while running with other cars but I fix that I love to mix them with budd cars and it's a great car stay on the tracks good and it matches with the phase three passenger cars great cars

Great video. Yes, Amtrak Horizons use a different truck than the commuter version of the car. Amtrak uses the GSI truck from the Superliner while NJ Transit and Metro-North use an inside-bearing truck with the wheels exposed. Also, I believe the seating differences are correct. Comets stuff in more people in a 5-abrest layout, Horizons offer more interior space.

I guess a comparison with a Walthers Proto and the Rapido would be a better. Not a Mainline.

I am looking into buying these coaches in the future, have you had any problems with them? please be honest.

The Walthers horizon fleet coaches seem OK to me, but I got spoiled with massive investments in Rapido Trains Inc horizon and Comet Commuter coaches and cab control cars. I do feel that Walthers mainline had regular hobbiests who just want to run Trains in mind. They cater to the more budget friendly modelers, where as rivet counters like myself don't mind spending the extra money for the intricate details. If anything, there is a best of both worlds in my opinion, as the Walthers coaches would be used as fillers in a train consist. I wouldn't mind purchasing a few, but I definitely would superdetailing them, just like I just did with the release of KATO's Viewliner baggage coach.

Too funny. I was just checking out the Horizon passenger cars last night at Trainworld, before your video came out. I have some Athearn BlueBox phase 3 from 25 years ago. I think I will wait until someone comes out with the Amfleet cars. Not sure I like the Bachman ones. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there. I can't claim to be all knowing but in the research I have done I have never seen any evidence of horizon cars being pulled by either e60s or AEM7s. 95% of the time they would be behind an F40. In California you would often see them with Dash 8s and on Midwest services often behind an NPCU. about 1998-2002 you could see horizons still in phase 3 livery behind p40s or p42. They would on rare occasion ride behind F59PHIs on Amtrak California routes due to equipment shortages
