You can tell that he’s really hating this ipad 😂 all he’s finding from from this ipad are faults 😂 and when he does compliment it there’s always a negativity beside it.
@@pranavsantosh3372 yeah it definitely can. You would just need a keyboard and mouse. I use it for school and it’s amazing. It comes with iWork btw. It’s basically Microsoft office but Apple version. Pages is for writing/typing, GarageBand is for music, Numbers for spreadsheets, Keynote for presentations (PowerPoint alternative), iMovie and Clips for video editing, Files for… files.
Hey Lou, really enjoying you looking at the more budget friendly stuff! I do enjoy the boujee products from time to time but these type of videos are perfect for me!
Umm.. it’s only two years old, so it would be kind of strange if it weren’t still going strong. Hell, if you got AppleCare, you should still have another year of coverage.
Arafat Khan I’d definitely be inclined to agree! I’ve already got a Logitech case for my iPad Air 3 and just ordered the one with the trackpad for myself. Definitely a better buy than the Apple ones. Just wish they had one with the trackpad for the Pro!
It is good for our wallet but i thing the selling point of the magic keyboard is not just how it work well with the ipad but also the design that we are paying for. If you look around that magic keyboard has the best design and the best build.
The air is still an amazing little machine. I’m still using an OG iPad Pro 9.7” 2016 and it runs flawlessly five year later and battery is still a full day of use almost it’s crazy how well made the higher end iPads are. Very prudent purchase.
Best combo in my opinion is to get this 10.2 inch (or the ipad air 2019 if u want something a lil more powerful) and then buy the new logitech combo touch keyboard with trackpad ( basically a magic keyboard of half its price ).
But you still need to take into account what the device will be used for. I couldn't use an iPad as a daily device. Lots of software that I use at work requires a computer. In school, I couldn't use Examplify on an iPad. If you want a computer, buy a MacBook or a Windows laptop (including the Surface). If you want a tablet, buy the iPad.
Arvin Arakelian what are you talking about? My girlfriend uses the Examplify app from the appstore in her medical school on her iPad just fine. Been an entire semester using it both on school grounds and on at home thanks to covid-19. Your school must be the one dumb enough to think Examplify on the iPad is a "weaker version" or some other lame excuse to force you to get a computer.
I got a iPad 4th gen back in 2013. Still functions like butter and battery last for almost a day with full charge while the only disadvantage being some apps are not supporters
In twitter , that's where you tweet things. In Africa after every 60 seconds a minute passes Edit: I wake up and see this comment with near 1k likes thanks !
I watched this on my ipad 7th gen and was glad you had good things to say about it I love this ipad it’s fast enough to easily browse the web and google. 10.2 inch screen is a great size for RU-vid and even scrolling through Twitter. For the price it’s a great buy.
I like the bezels and home button c: the air 3 is a perfect middle for me. I don’t think old = outdated, kinda like how flip phones are coming back. It’s all a cycle
“There has been a few people who have made some funny tweets on twitter, that’s where you would tweet things”. Why not include the first part..? The punchline is way funnier with that part included
Getting myself 8th gen for school… as long as I can save PDF files, type on a Google doc, and open a web browser I have what I need. Helps that the iPad is also a lot more compact then most laptops and holds a charge much better.
As a student I got this iPad but the 128 gb version + the Apple Pencil and honestly it has been the Best Buy I’ve ever made because you can use it as a tablet but you can also use it as a notebook using an app called GoodNotes. It has made my life way easier. Loved it. Also I bought a cheap wireless keyboard for like 10-15$ for when I have to write, but in general it always works amazingly
If you take the with 128 gb you can Also have Tons of other games! For multimedia you mean iMovie? I Make gaming video for my friend, but for being a youtuber, i need a little more time. But It’s the best and cheaper iPad ever! More questions?
For a student, Microsoft seems great with the keyboard. For kids and adults who want entertainment and other purposes can get the base level ipad. Designers or people who need great screen and performance can get the ipad pro.
I have one of these with a Logitech keyboard case and the pencil. It’s a total gamechanger for notetaking and I basically don’t use paper at all anymore. The battery lasts nice and long and it’s plenty powerful for anything that you’re ever going to actually want to do on an iPad. My only complaint is the kind of crappy bottom-firing speaker. Don’t buy one of these if you need a lot of compute (obviously) but for day-to-day watching youtube videos, taking notes, reading/filling out pdfs, etc. there is nothing better than this thing for the price.
My senior year of college I switched to using an iPad instead of a laptop as my main device. While occasionally I typed my notes, I found I liked writing my notes much more. I was able to organize my notes better than I ever had before. I also REALLY enjoyed being able to have an ebook/pdf version of all my textbooks so I didn’t have to carry around physical copies. Obviously this is not unique to the iPad, but I enjoyed it. The only thing I missed about a laptop was the ability to run the full desktop version of excel and more intensive softwares like R - I was an Econ major and did a lot of statistical analysis. I think I’m kind of a unique case, but if you’re use to Apples system I’d recommend an iPad for school. It’s also a great media consumption device. Many of my friends had surface products though and really really liked them. Not to be ambiguous, but you really can’t go wrong with either. For price consideration: I did also buy a 1st gen Apple Pencil and a cheap Bluetooth keyboard.
The iPad pro option seems to be the best one simply because it will not be outdated in a few months or couple of years and you feel confident in buying a « true » 2020 device without compromises or regrets
Maybe the reason the standard iPad is just the iPad, not the SE is because the iPad range moves in one direction. It starts with the 10.2 and goes to the 12.9" pro. The iPhone range actually starts with the iPhone 12. It goes both up and down from there depending on how much you want to spend.
I went through my bachelor and my master degree with my surface pro 3. A bit expensive at the time but it was the best device for a uni student. Not only for it's portability but also for the relative high performance for what is basically a tablet. I think the surface experience is the most convenient for a student, especially if you have to do a lot of typing.
I’m a student and i went for the cheaper iPad. I can use notability and google docs/other google applications and that is all i really need it for. I use it on occasion for tv shows and RU-vid. Great for students
Ender Wigin Hey, at least they still think about those who live on a budget. Plus, this probably performs better than the older models that probably have the same price as this one currently. Who wouldn’t want that?
Essentially, this new ipad using the same processor A 10 as the 6th gen. The only difference is a bigger screen, increasing from 9.7 to 10.2. I’ve been using the 6th in the past 2 years and I’d say it is a decent tablet. It serves what I need for entertainment mostly.
I got my 7th gen iPad at staples for $250 USD, it’s great! The audio is awesome and it carries all of my heavy work and doesn’t glitch at all even when my storage is at the max! I have a Bluetooth keyboard and it makes it NEXT LEVEL! It handles iOS 14 and runs very smooth, highly recommend! :D
Lew: "something that would probably consider to be the best value in Apple's entire product lineup" also Lew: "Wow... talk about a lot to live up to..."
I've got the 3rd Gen iPad Pro and I bought it just because it's more future proof(A12X), the new pen for school and the better display. I absolutely love the new pen!
Gabriel Il est Con ! As a developer android fucked up on their tablets, they didn’t bring the necessary sdk to optimize for tablet and now no developer actually does it because of the small market share
I mean, when the first iPad was released, a lot of android tablets rushed into the market, even Android itself started developing a special version to support these new devices. The thing is, nothing went right, most of the brands that released these tablets never made them durable or powerful enough, it was difficult to develop apps that supported that giant unstable ecosystem, and it became a disappointment. Even today that feeling of Android tablets being bad still lives, Samsung and some other brands like Huawei or Xiaomi makes some good quality tablets now, but it still has that random glance of "it's just an oversized Android phone".... This is just my long opinion btw :b
I got this iPad with cellular for half off with T-Mobile a few months back. I love it!! I purchased the good notes 📝 app for note taking and combined with the Apple Pencil first gen, it makes taking notes in Uni so much better and fun
I really feel like that tech reviewers are so used to the high-end products/specs that they forget that the vast majority of the people do not really need or care about the "problems" they find when comparing them to top notch products. A 7th gen iPad for $300 is WAY MORE attractive to your average consumer than an iPad Pro for +$800
The new Logitech combo touch case for this iPad makes it so much more viable as a laptop replacement. You should review it! Edit: it even comes with a trackpad which supports all the gestures you would use on the screen. The trackpad is nice bc I don’t have to bring a mouse around and they added cursor support recently. It also has an Apple Pencil holder which is good since I like to write my notes in OneNote for my classes.
Maybe/probably this video was shot way before the Apple/Logitech Combo Touch was released or even announced. 🤷🏼♂️ PS. Where I’m living the (recommend) retail price is EUR 149,95, how about USD? 🤔
@@comically it's 150 in USD too. It's kinda steep but the case is well built and protects both the front and back of the iPad. To me it was a good buy bc I work a lot so it's easy to be able to do my hw for school during breaks or when it's not busy. Edit: easy in the sense that it's more portable, good battery life, quick and easy to use
@@gggamingbadspawn172 Fair enough, I will look into it. Approx. EUR 500,- is my limit anyway, so it would fit in this regard. On the other hand, I always associated iPads with (media) consumption rather than them being productive devices, but hey, maybe this one covers the middle ground as a “prosumer” device. 😉
I think it is also important to mention the recall that was issued on the older keyboard cases for the ipad. They will fail with regular use(attaching and detaching from case) in about a year. Apple knew tis and had a recal program in place. All you had to do was bring the keyboard case into the store and and they would swap it out. From what I remember you only got this exchange once and then your shit out of luck when the new one dies, which mine did 14 months after I exchanged my old one, which lasted about 13 months. Both failed right outside of the warrenty. Luckily for me Apple had that recall in place when my first one died. Guess being an early adopter had a perk after all but still that case WILL fail quickly. I reccomend a third party solution if you intend on using your ipad like a computer.
I bought it last year. 128 GB $329 at Costco. Good price! I love it! Battery is perfect can last all day and it’s big enough to have my games, apps, and work done for being a student.
As a student who just recently purchased an iPad Air, I have to say I think it's the better deal. It's got a better screen coating that makes writing much nicer, higher base storage option, and that extra bit of power can go a long way.
surface go runs full windows 10, which is good but sometimes the ui isn't optimized for touch.. that being said you can download any application or game on the go that you could on your computer at home. i love my surface go with the built in stand too
@@justxylo4135 completely true. And they chose the perfect product to do just that. They dint get to be a trillion dollar company for nothing I guessss
It's not mostly the hardware except for new chip unlike in android market. They have to make new flashy hardware innovations to make customers buy and they have fierce competion with many android tech brands. Most apple users buy apple products next. Apple's secret is their products actually looks alike so you don't feel much irrelevant because new products looks like the old. Only the internals are new. The OS are the same in old and new anyways. Apple is great in business and customer experience....most of the time but not all the time for all people.
I was faced with the decision of Windows laptop, a Windows 2 in 1, a Surface something (I lump them all together), buying an Android tablet, buying a 2 in 1 Chrome book. Once I realized because of how I multitask constantly I needed 2 devices and not one. I just bought another Fire tablet (video watching machine) and then paid $800 for a new Windows laptop. I never considered an Apple product at all, unless it's sold in the grocery section...
I'm still using the first gen iPad Air that I've had for 6 years. works perfectly and I've never had any problems with it. and I paid $600 for that one, this new version is definitely worth it in my opinion.
2nd attempt until i get a video Hey dude, since now almost all students are doing classes online, could you do an episode on good value laptops for students
I got my 32gb ipad 10.2. Good for mails, RU-vid and Netflix. My 3 year old enjoys the educational apps too... Thought of transitioning into the apple eco system after 12 years of HTC. My telco was out of stock on the iPhone 11 pro due to covid 19 so ended up buying the Samsung note 10 although I had the option to get the s20 ultra (don't fancy the hype)...
I have an iPad Air and surface pro and I love my surface. Its sm better for work, it’s jus what it’s meant to do vs and iPad which I would say is much more abt the experience than actual productivity
Missed opportunity, you bring up that Zugu case and bash about how there’s no good keyboard available for the $329,- iPad. But you didn’t look into the most popular 3rd party case: the one from Logitech, which basically beats Apple’s own inhouse keyboard.
Logitech’s Combo Touch keyboard case makes it much closer to the Surface Go from a laptop replacement point of view. Would love to have seen this in the video.
I got a Logitech Combo Touch keyboard case for my 10.2 inch iPad, and it feels comparable to the surface keyboards. I also really appreciate the function key row
