I like huge hauls instead of monthly ones, personally. But whatever is more convenient for you is fine by me. I got my hands on Defy Me by Tahereh Mafi, Persepolis 1&2 and the Long Way to a Small Angry Planet (finished it already, it was a nice read) and the next 2 books in the series.

The Witchlands is an amazing series, you've already read Truthwitch and the series gets even better, also the third book already came out this year. I really recomend this series, it's definitely a favorite of mine although I didn't enjoy the novella (Sightwitch). I hope you like it!

Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig is not a novel but a memoir. I don't want to say more because I like going in to books blind, but I believe being aware its non fiction is essential so you don't set your expectations on it being another The Humans. Also as a BS in biology I Contain Multitudes is well done and informative for the general public.

The Sue Grafton one is an entire series based on the alphabet. The first is A is for Alibi. It’s a good series, sadly she passed away so the books only got to the letter Y. But still worth the read. 😊

I think you would like the Discovery of Witches trilogy by Deborah Harkness. It has romance, but it's also fantasy, magic, and a school setting, but it's a historic university setting, which was really refreshing! Witches, vampires, daemons, and my favorite scene was actually in the lab discussing the genetic differences between the 3. Lol. Happy reading!

Hey Emily. Two thoughts. Sue Grafton book is a series. “A is for Alibi “ is the first one and the series goes thru the whole alphabet. The Michael Crichton book is pretty good. It was pretty technical learning how a plane works. Thank you for your channel. 🌸🌸🌸

Nothing. I have picked up nothing lately, and that makes me sad. On the other hand, I'm slowly getting through all the books on my shelves that I hadn't read yet (I'm almost finished with what's been released in the Mistborn Series, and will pick up Way of Kings next) AND I've been utilizing my library more, so yay? I do know Book Outlet is having a sale in the next week or two, so I may do some shopping then. I like the 'book haul when you have a bunch of books' over book haul every month.

Have you ever read anything from Tamora Pierce? She writes fantasy and YA. You should try the Song of the Lioness quartet, Wild Magic quartet and The Protector of the Small quartet. They are set in the same universe but with different protagenists. Starting with Alanna. She started publishing in the 80s and the books suffer a little because of huge time jumps, especially for the Alanna quartet, but as Tamora Pierce herself said. Harry Potter was a huge game changer as it showed the publishers that children and teenagers were willing to read big books. There is also the circle series, which is set in a completely different universe, where you follow four children, learning magic.

Reasons To Stay Alive is on my TBR as well, you should know that it is a memior which according to Goodreads is inspired by his experience with depression. I am really excited to read this but also a bit apprehensive because I am afraid it might effect my mental health 😅 And I like seeing the book hauls quarterly. And maybe you could mention the books you got from the library as well (audiobooks/ebooks), or do a separate library haul.

Last year I read The Hound of Rowan, the first book in The Tapestry series by Henry Neff. It gave me Harry Potter vibes, but I liked it. Been looking for the second one on my secondhand stores, no luck. The Iron Trial is another good one too. Both series are middle grade. Do a monthly book haul. Great haul this month! 😁

I can understand this of being overwhelmed with so many books. I am fortunately at an age where I know what I like to read and it isn't a surprise anymore if I pick a genre I don't like and I end up not liking the book, the last book I just told myself to stop getting the wrong sort of book was when I tried to read "The Library at Mount Char" and definitely didn't like it. So I can already sort out the new stuff from genres like Horror, for example, that I know I won't enjoy. It gets less overwhelming if you buy only what has a fair chance of being your taste.

A biology nonfiction! That book made me think of a podcast I'm currently binging that I think you would really like, it's called This Podcast Will Kill You and every episode two awesome ladies go over the biology, history and current impact of a different disease. It's specially nice since at the end of every episode they cite their sources + have a goodreads list (These Books Will Kill You) which has inspired me to pick up a ton of super interesting biology nonfiction I wouldn't have known about otherwise! Love you💕

Have u tried older SF books written by female authors (e.g. Octavia Butler, Ursula LeGuin, )? Cuz I find that those aren't as dated when it comes to feminism. In fact, some of them explore feminist issues really well, even for the time they were written in. Booksandpieces' channel has some really diverse SFF recs.
