Thanks so much for sharing about your new Brother sewing machine! I just got mine and am ready to thread it. Watching you has given me the confidence to get started with my sewing…it’s been 4 years since my old machine died and this Brother is the result of much research. Well done!😊
I'm so glad that my video gave you more confidence. I have really enjoyed this machine and have done several projects using it. Hope you have fun and make some great memories as you create new things.
GREAT VIDEO!! I watched the same video you watched (BlueprintDIY) and chose the same machine for the same reasons. Mine's still in the box, but not for long! Your demo was great, loved the project modeled by your adorable daughter. My grandmother kept my bassinet next to her sewing machine, and my mother made my wedding dress in 1976. It's a legacy you'll pass on. Bless you for sharing!
I remember the excitement i had when I got a new sewing machine and I could hear the excitement in your voice. I could almost smell the new sewing machine smell while you were sewing. Love the sound of your machine. Super powerful and Elizabeth looked so cute spinning in her skirt!
you probably dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my gf lately =)
I hope you are still enjoying yours. Some are okay but most of these machines are duds. I didn't unbox mine right away or it would have gone back to the store after the first use, with thread clots, jammed bobbins and re-threading it four times in five minutes. I hope you got one of the good ones.
I have a Brother Project Runway, which was fine for home sewing but am looking to get this one for my bag making. Have you used it to do vinyl or multiple layers of thicker fabric? and BTW, very brave of you to try the auto threader on camera -- took me a while to figure it out!
Thank you 🙂 The thickest I have sown was what I had on camera. However I watched a video of a lady using it on leather and it did multiple layers. Hope that helps.
No not my first time but I haven't used one much. Sewed my daughter a swing dress once. Made a jean quilt over the course of like 10 years lol and then the odd hems and buttons is about it.
Do you mind if I ask how you get the machine to go so slow since I've been having a bit of trouble with the speed. When I start it just goes super fast so I'm a little confused by how you guys are going so slow almost one stitch at a time on this machine
@@thisrandomjourney7103 Thank you for the response. I actually realized a little later that this was an American model which meant it didn't match our outlet voltage so now with the proper voltage it's actually able to go slower unlike before. I thought for a minute my pedal was the issue but nope. Just the voltage that we had here was too high for the machine it ran like it was on steroids.
Mine is the worst sewing machine I've ever had, and I currently have five. The tension on these things are an ongoing problem, resulting in thread clots, skipping and having to re-thread constantly. My first (and last) project was Christmas toys for charity. I was using one layer of good quality cotton fabric and a layer of low loft 100% cotton batting. This so-called Heavy Duty machine was a nightmare. The thread-cutter befuddles almost everyone, and the LED light is almost useless. I bought this because I've outgrown my sewing room and wanted a portable model. I had to go back to my old machines to finish the toy project, and won't use this one again. There's a reason they are cheap.
The bobbin is your secondary thread. It completes the stitch. Without the bobbin thread your top thread would just be laying on top. I hope that helps. And congratulations on trying something new!!! You got this!
