It’s my understanding that when a label states this particular type of language, that it actually means the animals have been grass fed from the beginning to the end of their life cycle. As in before their butchered which is why the word “finished” is used.

When you put your email in they give you twenty minutes to order with a discount. And they don’t tell you how much meat they’re sending you. Really strange business plan can’t see it being sustainable. What’s frustrating is that I’d like to switch to grass fed beef but they need to be transparent.

Just put in your email and check out what they have. I just did that and let the clock run. After 20 minutes I put the same email in and it still gave me the discount so you’re good to do that.

Yea, it's weird. Doesn't actually show you the meals it's sending, just shows # of meals. I'd like to know weight of each meal and type of meat so I can figure out if it's worth it. Plus they pull that "You have xx:xx:xx left to claim this discount" when we all know that timer is full of shit.

@@jonathangrignon7946 A local butcher will have higher quality meat. This meat comes frozen and automatically loses quality points. Always go fresh never frozen.

I got the tote on my first order only, packaging has changed over the last year or two. The latest packaging is great, throw the whole thing in the recycle bin.

I can get 4 packs of 1.5 lbs ground turkey for $20 at Costco. Couple that with the wings, breast and steaks, Costco is a better deal....plus FREE unlimited samples!!!

Costco beef is not grass fed/grass finished, even their higher end kirkland premium.

I read they no longer include the tote bag. My first order is coming next week.

@@kimnicho This video is from January and he received a tote. My conversation with them in mid-February said it's intermittent on who gets totes and who doesn't. It's random. I had 3 orders and never received one. I would have loved to because packages came damaged and torn every month.

Not really, nowadays the basic box runs at $149 that's about 12lb total of premium, Michelin star quality meat. Ethical, sustainable, humane, and all natural.

It is pricey, but it sure is more healthy for us. Not everyone, unfortunately, can afford it.

My thoughts too. With all that packaging you can easily just run to the store, or your local butcher shop, and pick more for that price! No packaging involved. You're paying for the packaging too!

Really depends on portion control. My meals consist of 4 oz of meat at the moment, and 1lb ground beef will make you 4 4oz burgers for 4 meals, so it kinda makes up for quantity. obviously price is very high but low quality supermarket stuff is just a dollar or 2 under

i bought 12 pounds of ground beef for 70 bucks,, so thats not bad... thats 12 meals for me since i am doing carnivore/ keto

You are totally right but it depends on what you order. I did a big custom box. 40 ounces of baby back ribs, 100ounces of rib eye, 24 ounces of top sirloin, 40ounces of chuck roast, 24ounces of sirloin cap, 48 ounces of chicken thighs and a 58ounce pork loin roast and that came out to 11.55 per lb. Considering the quality and the decent cuts... its not bad.

I have a custom box with free bacon for life and free 2 lbs ground beef for life. Its $8 per pound for what I select(6lbs drumsticks, 6 lbs boneless thighs, 4 lbs stew meat, free 2lbs ground beef, free bacon). I avoid steak. I send it to my grandparents who dont have a trader Joe's or a whole foods market and who cant drive anymore. This service has been a life saver.

I'm telling everyone I know to avoid or cancel their Butcher Box account. I just had a terrible experience with them and the quality just isn't any better than what I can get elsewhere.

I don’t understand why people mail order meat. Is a butcher not available in their area? That has to be the only explanation... but sadly I know plenty of people that live near farms that mail order meat. I mean cmon, I’m in Pennsylvania ffs. Just go to the damn butcher

Well, it does seem to be high quality. If the cost was $100 I'd be tempted but that price point is just too high.

Its not about value, its about quality and humane practices. Cosco or Grocery Outlets are for value shoppers.

I use to buy Costco's meat's until I found out that their organic beef wasn't grass finished. The poultry isn't really free range.

Understandable as a practical "makes sense" approach but as is usuall it's more complicated than that. 1st problem is trust. Most grass fed beef in the stores are not actually grass fed per se and even if fed with grass they are not a hundred percent fed with grass. The FDA lets companies call their meat grass fed if you just feed them grass at a certain point and grain all the way, or feed them corn with no startch with(apparently FDA thinks that: corn with no startch = grass). 2nd really is just the convenience of it. Imagine trying to make sure your beef is grass fed, good quality, not rotting and most of grass fed beef comes from local rancher or small time farms. You gotta haggle with these people, make sure you can trust them and each farmer have their own different methods that differ in results in: sanitation, quality and consistency. Butcherbox just removes all of this minor but time consuming inconveniences. In my 3rd world country I'd PAY THRICE for the price of beef here in my country to have some service like butcherbox bcause here, if you want quality grass fed(and grass finsished) beef, not rotting, not chemically treated beef, you'd have to do a lot negotiating, farmer-customer relations, supervision of quality standards(BY YOURSELF, because there are little to no policy in quality control here). Even being rich here in this country doesn't mean much when everything available to buy is shit(just my personal rant). So yea I'd pay thrice the price for the price we have here. I hope that explains why this service is such a great thing. Good day. Note: why I know much about your country? I plan to move there.

I'm sorry to hear about your first box. I was going to order a box but when I went to site that had reviews on Butcher Box, I did not like what I read.

It's not uncommon. Several people on this video have complained about it.

Try emailing them. I sent an email with a question and it was answered.

Great question... I don’t have any direct line or relationship with BB but I do not think they go through that process ( not a requirement). Butcher box raises beef more humanely. My view: usda grades=fat levels in beef. Because Butcher Box is grass fed beef it will be leaner. So would likely be rated lower than prime. If you want lean cuts not a factor

I think they keep things frozen - different from Porter Road ( see my recent video ) that keeps it fresh... I think it’s a real challenge for shipping

Yes with dry ice... may be “melted” by time you open the box...
