Hey gang,
You know the deal by now - I work for a company that buys and sells comics books (www.sellmycomicbooks.com) and it's my job to grade the issues we sell as "raw singles" on eBay (seller name: dotcomcomics).
I never have any idea what is in any box I’m given to grade. Thus, I invite you to look over my shoulder as I make the discovery of what my day will entail. It’s always a good time as we re-discover some great old comic books and recount stories about all the amazing worlds that were!

I think I'll have a Bat Booger and an order of fries with my drink. I once had a dealer try to sell me Marvel Premier #57 as Dr Who's first American appearance, I had him check his Overstreet under Movie Classics for the actual first appearance. And I was one of those people glued to PBS to watch Dr Who. Keep up the good work and find me some Gold Keys.

Kinda, sorta, yes and no. But mostly no. The price guides will tell you they have value, but CIs are a lot like other once super-hot books that had a small, but rabid fanbase, which has since died out. Other examples include Captain Marvel, Little Lulu, and westerns. Once upon a time there used to be collectors who would actively try to get not just every issue of CI, but every edition of every issue, even where the only difference was the re-order ad. But these days CI seems to be treated more as a curiosity - folks will buy them on impulse when the price is low enough, or, more often, when they come in a lot of other things, but I very rarely encounter anyone purposefully seeking them out. Some of the reason for that - apart from the fanbase dying off, with no new collector's coming along with nostalgia for books they knew as a kid, because the CI series ended before they were born - is that they are fairly plentiful, especially in low grade, having once been so widely distributed and read. Also, to be frank, the artwork in most issues is pretty subpar. People who do buy CI seem to do so for the idea of what it was, rather than to actually read the stories. When we put CIs up on eBay, unless they are mid-grade or better early editions of early numbers, they tend to go for a buck a book, or even less. Granted, when we get CIs, they tend to be in pretty low grade, still, we've pretty much stopped trying across the board to movethem as singles, relegating them to multi-book lots, only.

😱 Holy BAT 💥#🌀 ..BOObly GERlS barely beautifying boxed books! 😳 BATs not fair! ☝🤓 However Duke I completely agree with your appreciation of the 1980s Red Circle series of books. Some really , really great artists involved with the entertaining stories. 🤔Actually on the cover of Mighty Crusaders that's Lance Strong -- Shield #2 that you identified as Steel Sterling , who's blonde and wears a red costume. You also forgot to point out The Jaguar as originally being a Silver Age creation , I only mention this because The Jaguar is one of my favorite characters. Looking forward to visiting Riverdale.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if we grade books for others, like a CGC? At present we do not offer this service.

Bat boogers has added 20 subscribers since you posted this yesterday! That Batman book at the end - never was a fan of the cover art. Guess I'm not really a Mignola fan. Batman and Robin should look like they did when Aparo drew them forever! Change is bad! Thanks for another fun video!

Thanks! We'll be back on WhatNot with a regular show at 8pm est on Tuesday, April 26. I may run one or two brief mini-auctions (about an hour or so in length) between now and then just to test if all of our issues are resolved. We weren't able to print labels from our first two auction. We're still not sure if it was a WhatNot glitch or if we messed up the shipping categories. It took a few days to get word back from WhatNot when we sent out the SOS, but we *think* the issues are resolved. Our big worry right now is that we may get negative feedback as we were unable to meet the usual two-day shipping deadline. Unfortunately, though the delay was through no fault of our own (we think), the app has no way we can find to contact buyers to let them know what was up. I believe all lot have been mail now though. So, they were only a three days late at most getting out. Anyway, our next several auctions will be raw singles only until we can get some WhatNot feedback on how best to create shipping categories for multi-book lots.
