Real talk, this is what gambling addiction looks like. Not saying Wubby is addicted!! Just saying that if anyone is doing this or sitting at a slot machine or playing blackjack, etc... this is what the unhealthy gambling looks like. The first case I ever opened in csgo was an esports summer 2014 case and I got a Jaguar in minimal wear, the second was a pheonix case and I got a battle scarred AWP asiimov. To this day almost ten years and hundreds of cases later, they remain the best things i've ever got in an unboxing by far

Car example is bad. The WOW example is fine. Guess what... Asmon sought out all the rare mounts and transmogs and in the end no one cared after the initial 10 seconds flash in the pan of the pull. Even people who knew a mount was rare were just like "okay, that's cool... do something else"

The second loot crates were introduced into CS is when the entire franchise went to shit. Half gambling and half gaming. Back in CS/1.5 or 1.6/CS:S you could download community made "skins" which were actual model, texture, animation, and sound replacements for the stock weapons. They gave you no upper hand over the enemy and were just... fucking cool. They changed the weapon looked, felt, and gave depth to the skin. Nowadays we have a bunch of MSPaint bullshit people pay thousands for because they love spinning a fucking wheel. It's depressing and ruined an entire community of genuine content creators. I miss scouring FPSBanana when I was 13 for new skins and releases - now we have this fucking garbage that people pour their money into with reckless abandon. Valve really took a dive into milking people out of their money with this smoothbrain shit.
