Bit of a random one this one, while I was in Florida a few weeks back I thought to myself that I’d try getting one of these zurn flushometer sensor units to connect to my flushometer system here in the shed, but I couldn’t find a plumbing supply shop that was close enough that had one in stock to the area we were staying at Florida,
So when I got home to the uk I ordered one from the states off eBay, worked out reasonably cheap to buy off there too!!
A couple of weeks later and it has arrived!!
So here it is, a new zurn sensor unit that will fit onto my Sloan flushometer,
I made a little bit of a video here unpacking it and fitting it to the flushometer itself and did some testing,
Pretty simple design, and very easy to set up unlike some of the uk equivalents
Thanks for watching!!

You put it on the Highcrest with the new seat. Awesome, and pretty cool! Getting more Americanized by leaps and bounds! 👍😀 What's on your list when you come over next year...?

Thanks! Yeahh it is slowly haha, I’d love to bring another toilet back with me but it’s the issue of bringing it back, would love something antique from over there but too risky and fragile to have shipped, I’m gonna do something tho, I’ve already booked to return next may!

@@sparkyfireworks Speaking of our vintage terlits, all were the type of German washdowns with the drain in front about 1880. J. L. Mott name was common. Commercial terlits starting in 1890 were wall mounts with reverse traps with siphon jets. Residential had forward traps, no siphon jet but had a 'nose' below the rim in the back that dumped a lot of water to help flush. That nose went away to become the siphon jet in front of the trap below the water line. In the mid 1950's residences were switched to reverse traps, thanks to American Standard Cadet. Gerber in 2010 reintroduced the forward trap with low water usage based on the American Standard best performing forward trap, the Modernus and Ejecto. User channel VintageKohler has YT vids of early terlit catalogs from the turn of last century. Look his channel up. Ought to view the YT channels if the top 5 terlit collectors to view ALL the still working terlits in America since 1890. If you see one you want, ask if any are for sale and if they can help you find the next one for your collection. Since every terlit flushes just a little bit differently, many would video it for your pleasure viewing before purchase. Delivery to Florida is another matter. The next collection for an American terlit would be a wall mounted one on flushometers, which you like. There are two kinds. A blow out terlit that requires a 3 bolt high drain line wall carrier. A siphon jet, which is common today requires a 4 bolt low drain line wall carrier. Josam is a big terlit carrier company. Zurn is another. Many collectors are plumbers or sons of them that can help you get all your parts together. The other reason why we have floor drain types inside has to do with prolonged winter weather and pipes freezing. EU has cold weather and I don't think they have exposed exterior pipes like the UK did. The side drain in rear limits y'all to washdown type terlits. We have now gotten the double trapway siphon jet terlits based on the UK Armitage Shanks design. You have that design in your plum colored terlit. Great suction, quiet, it has horrible rear bowl rinse using only 0.8 gallons/flush (3 Liters).

Wonderful. Have you ever thought about getting a 3 gallon urinal cistern for your collection? I've realized the one I've got is pretty fun and would be a cool addition to the collection

Thanks mate! Yeah I did think about getting something like that a while back, and almost got a fireclay one from a friend too which still had the original auto syphon in, had a nice logo on the front of the cistern too but can’t remember what the make was, Also I still can’t reply to you on messenger for some reason, it just says I can’t reply to this conversation so I’m not sure why that is, you might want to check your side,
