Think breakfast style MRE with sweets and crunch. Enjoy menu #20 of the newer MRE series with me as we unbox and eat this interesting meal. It was actually quite good.
Loved your story about your trip in Groningen. I myself am Dutch and I was pleasantly surprised by this story! Your videos are amazing and this story just made me even more of a fan! On your question about jobs in different places: Depending if you already work for a company you sometimes indeed need papers and help from officials to get you to work somewhere else for said company. But these days you can mostly go to wherever you want and work wherever you want as long as the job you looking for accepts you that is haha.
Perhaps they were talking about moving into another country in Europe because moving inside the Netherlands has never been under licence as a citizen. Besides WWII of course when the German skinheads were in power.
Thank you for your service my dad had just graduated high school in 1965 when he got drafted into the army his younger brothers 1 of them was in the marines it was a funny time when my dad and his brother hung out they always said funny things to each other
Come for the stories and stay for the food. I'd like to see ya do it over a fire where you can cook the foods that should be heated. I'm sure you did that at one point in the field. Love this stuff, and good job ace with the camera skills
Allow me to jump on the bandwagon. I loved every bit of that story, from coincidentally hitching with an American, to the little girl thinking you're a Nazi, to the Patriarch clunking down the road in his wooden shoes....all of it. I really like how the stories are weaving through the video's too, that was a great idea. PS Mini-Wheats Blueberry is my favorite cereal, I'm a blueberry nut so I thought that "granola" looked delicious.
I'm not a huge fan of most cereals as a kid we usually had warm /cooked breakfast. But all of my family did and I do love frosted mini wheats for movie watching snacking Strawberry and blueberry are the best but ive had other random flavors i like too. One I had once and loved but I don't know if it was name brand or not. Apple cinnamon frosted mini wheats. They were yummy.
Hey Marine! Watching you mix the beveridge powder reminded me of how we (the boiler techs) aboard ship would scrub clean the stainless steel deckplates down in the fireroom. We had a 5 gallon bucket we'd put "bug-juice" concentrate with out sugar...add water and scrub the deckplates. The soap we added resulted in red or green foamy solution. This concoction allowed us to de-grease the deckplates as the citric acid in the bug juice concentrate would break up grease and oil residues. Made the fireroom smell somewhat better for an hour or so. We used the 10 gallon pack in 3-4 gallons of water, it was super concentrated like how you started your mix.
The story about moving provinces and needing to contact about the government and all that is still partially true, but it’s way less work. It’s merely just some paperwork for moving out and all that. Great video!!
Great story about going to Holland and meeting your extended family. I have a similar story about going to Germany and meeting my family in Basel, and they were so happy and accommodating I considered moving there permanently. My family members who left escaped the war, and were still alive so meeting me only two generations removed was me meeting great aunts, and uncles, and some second cousins and I felt the immediate familiar connection and my great uncle showed me pictures where I looked almost exactly like him in my 20's. Separated by a ocean, but still so close. The elders of that time are gone now, and I've written to one of my second cousins not to long ago, but time again has separated us. It was a beautiful moment in life.
Great story and review . I would like to try that ration some day. I say go for the campfire. It would add a nice touch. I always like your settings, not in the same place all the time. Looking forward to the next review.
yet another great MRE review there. The memories you shared with us about your relatives from Holland was simply amazing i loved the fact you got to connect with distant relatives like that and they were interested to learn about you as well! your travelling in the navy allowed you to meet them its so cool to hear stories like that i love them!
The blueberry granola is probably one of my favourite US ration items. Its so full of blueberries, the taste is amazing. Thank you for the story! Wishing you and your family a very Happy Christmas! :)
Me Ancient, thank you for your service and this video! My mouth was watering as I watched this one. Please do a video with a campfire especially if the heater isn't doing a good enough job. It would definitely add to the ambiance of the video
Wow. What a great story. I kept flashing back to my story in search of my ancestors. 1982. Yugoslavia. Trip w my dad and mom to the town he, my grandparents, great grandparents etc were born. Saw our house with family name. Unforgettable. So similar. And just being able to make that kind of trip and locate your ancestry. Dynamite story. Please keep em coming.
You are very welcome. Keep praying for God's wisdom and to know His will for your life. That's what we are doing, along with other things, of course. TFW, David!
Thank you for your service.... My father was in Nam Armor division of 17th Cav Redcatchers.... love watching your videos and listening to your stories... Keep up the good work!!!!
I'm really enjoying your stories from your tour of duty in the U.S. Marines. Reminds me of my great uncle Raymond, telling me all kinds of stories from his tour of duty in the U.S. Army, in WW2. Some of the stories were really graphic, and wild. Really wished that I'd have enlisted, when I had the chance. God bless everyone. :)
I love WW2 stories. I had an uncle in the Army in WW2. His unit captured a whole group of tanks by surprise. He had the German officer's pistols and gloves in a display case. Maybe I'll tell the story one of these days. TFW!
@@MeAncient I'll look forward to it. My great uncle Ray told me about capturing a German pilot that his battalion shot down, flying an ME109. He came close a few times to death, but, the good Lord was looking out for him. Thanks for your reply. God bless.
I'm thrilled I stumbled upon your channel, I've been a subscriber of Aces channel for years, spent a while not really on RU-vid and I always loved when you were in his videos, your personality. You guys are awesome, enjoying the stories as well.
Me Ancient, love your stories. You are a natural story teller. 🤗 This meal looked tasty. Keep em coming! Ever thought about bringing more of the family into your videos like Micah does. Just think of those grand kids hearing gramps telling his stories? That would be cool. Maybe they are too young to appreciate the stories? Future videos?
This was my favorite mre when I went through basic in 2019. I made sure to heat it up well and I’d add the cheese spread onto the hash giving that salty taste added a lot more flavor to it. The granola and blueberries were also great. Thanks for sharing!, many blessings to y’all, a brother in faith. Cheers
I wonder if the matches are in this MRE because it was cheaper to keep them in rather than try and make a new package without them. Anyways, I appreciate your videos. As someone who is in the process of enlisting it really is enjoyable to see the evolution of the MRE's and it's even better to hear your amazing stories!! Thank you for your service!!
Thank you for the great review videos ! I’ve been watching just to listen to your awesome stories as well! If I wanted to send you a Ration to review, where would I send it ?
Grew up in Iowa! That is awesome, never knew that. Fan from Iowa here and love your videos!! I am so happy things are going so great for your family!! Keep the videos coming :)
Love your reviews and stories. The campfire would be great because even used properly, American heaters don’t always work well. The hash browns are so good if you heat them up, and then fry them a bit in your mess pan over the fire.
That's a great story, I was born in Germany through military parents, (at the time dad was Army and mom was Air Force) I would love to see where I was born ...Dad went Air Force when we came back to the states
Nice got to meet family way over there fantastic .Id mile to see a fire video . Love to try this menu myself .remember the egg breakfast with the potateos and eggs always put cheese in it or the augraten potatoes that was good too
As per usual I loved the story friend. Also, those heaters are AWFUL! Idk if they only work when brand new, or what the deal is. But I have never personally had one work, or work well enough to heat something. I have no idea why. So I fully feel you with the heaters.
Thanks you for the video ! And thanks you also for all your stories ! It's pleaseant to listen at it :) If you want a French MRE, I can do something for you ;) Greetings from France !
After watching so many of these videos and having been able to have mre when i was young(my dad had a friend who bought them somewhere and brought them all back all the time) we had them stashed in the camper and at deer camp and in the cars for emergency stuck away from home(we kindavate them as teens tho. They never lasted in our vehicles to go bad lol But I'd love to maybe take some and with a bit of extra ingredients that you might find left over in pantries. Kinda like a MRE Chopped game lol. No time limits tho. I wanna make the best possible meal. Like maybe grinding the hard tac down into flour and use the blueberry granola to make a form of muffins or steamed cake (aka English pudding style) Lots of fun things to try.
Love your stories. How is it you winde up in Eroupe and I was stuck in the South Pacifice?! Lol. I signed up in 1987-1991 after high school. I was a Forced Recon Sniper 0317 from the 3-3. I was an E-6. I got out a Staff Sgt. I do I have us a big webber abd a small webber charcoal grills. Small one I take on Picknicks. So get out the grill buddy!
After school, I put in for Hawaii, Alaska, and Gitmo. Got Lejeune. That meant Europe and Middle East which was specifically Lebanon at the time. TFW and Semper Fi, Devil Dog!
Born in Iowa?? I’m from Iowa with Dutch background and served in the Army from 2013 to 2020. Would love to have some correspondence! Love the videos Sir! I know you worked for a living lol
Drew, I was born many moons ago, in northwest Iowa....... Rock Rapids. My brother was Army AirBorne from 80 - 84. I was USMC, obviously. TFW! (My email is in my description)
A little extra salt in the heater will help boost it. This is a great MRE and is my go-to for breakfast... mainly because there are not many choices. But this is a good one.
I understand this is an older video, and I still love your guys’ videos. I just have to say that there’s no tomatoes in Tabasco. I’m guessing someone has said that, but I couldn’t watch it again and not say it.
I lived in Little Rock for two years. Met and married my beautiful bride of 41 years there. She grew up in Jacksonville for her junior high and high school years. How about you?
