was'nt the pants like a 100% wool (90% regular wool and 10 % cashmere wool?)? so its washable on the wool/silk programs in a machine..? cashmere and other wool like alpacka, have been used for clothing for several centuries, and even couple of milleniums, so of course they can be washed. in Norway we use alot of wool of all kinds almost all year around, dependig on where you live, and we always have used it alot, cause of the cold arctic winters on our mountains. There are special wool/silk detergents, and you either handwash them, or machine wash on wool programs (gentle washing), then air dry lying flat, or they can be pulled out of shape from heavy wet wool pulling down, and when it is still a bit moist you can shape and pull to preferred shape, and that shape will hold even as dry.
