I like the size of this robot compared to the other and you're right, the design is very attractive. I'd like to see how interactive the robot is to its environment and humans.

You have really good demonstration videos of these little bots. I miss watching the Sony Qrio, it and the Atlas human-size bot, and the new boston dynamics dog bot (with the arm for a head), are the only bots which have ever really impressed me. There have been a few robotic limbs I was impressed with, but they were prosthetics and not combined into a robot. RIP qrio...He was vastly ahead of his time.

No camera or external sensors? Not sure how it can interact with its environment beyond being manually or programmatically controlled for static movement patterns... Are sensors left as an exercise for the customer to figure out on their own? Seems too limited for such an expensive toy.

It would be cool if you make some custom animations and fight each robot with those animations. Maybe even have a competition where you find someone else and do a tournament where you get a certain amount of time to customize the robot of their choice. It would be like the Japanese robot wrestling tournaments

+cryingcobraclan Alpha retails for around $400-500 compared to the other robots he's most easy to use and is best for anyone new to robotics. Now if you want to build your own then the Bioloid or Bolide robot are the best ones I like.

+cryingcobraclan robohero is identical to Plen2 (a printable robot kit) but is more then half the price. I will be doing a review on Plen2 this week. Robot hero goes for around $300-400

Khan Flicks cool thanks for the response. I am kinda new to the robot field but have always loved robots. I do have certain wowee robots such as roboreptile, roboraptor and a Mip. I want to upgrade to the alpha 1S bcuz its reminds me of the NAO a little bit. Do you know how much the NAO robot goes for?

NAO goes for over $1500. It really isn't for someone new to robotics, even isn't for me. I hear its difficult to use and isn't too par to use. I suggest looking at the Alpha 2 in that case, there is huge potential in that robot.
