@adrianlow2114 I find these really useful Adrian. Apart from anything else, you are putting educational content into the unboxing videos by explaining to us what's in the box and how to set things up. I know I joke around a little bit, but truly, I am glad you're doing them. I'm hoping to get to AXPONA next year for my channel. I'm not sure if you'll be there, of so I'd love to sit down with you if you are available or even try and get up to your store as I promised I would one day and interview you for my channel. Keep up the great work mate love what you do.👍🙂🎧
@@shanestephenson8423 Thanks Shane, one of these days I'll do a video on why we started these unboxing videos! lol. I'm not sure if I will make it to Axpona, but would definitely love to see you if I am there!
So, Jay sold his Chronosonic XVX and now owns the Sonus Fabrer SE17, which he says is the best speaking he has ever owned. You sell both, would you agree? I think the speaker that Jay wouldn’t reveal, because he said it just didn’t work in his room, with his equipment, is up for sale. The TAD-R1TX-EB
Both the Chronosonic XVX and the Sonus faber SE17 delight me in different ways. They are quite different in presentation, yet so similar in their abilities to communicate the emotion of music. I know this is a cop out, but I would have a hard time choosing between them.
Did MSB Discrete receive any update last a few years? It was a great sounding DAC when it was launched 12 years ago. But the dac industry moved moved so much during last decade.
Has it? What new tech has really moved the bar? MSB's lineup holds its own just fine today. I like that they don't mess with a good thing simply to sell more units.
Over the years I have collected countless remote controls ..........the only one still missing is a remote control with a function " pause " for my wife .......
I would look at the used market as digital equipment is NOTORIOUS for depreciating like crazy... Won't be surprised if it is 50% off after a couple of years.
@ptg01 there's hardly any MSB that comes up for sale, in Canada none. I waited 1 year and just bought new from Audio Excellence. First, I had the Discrete and now the Premier both from them.
In a future video, Adrian will demonstrate the excellent customer service MSB provides when he exchanges this defective unit (right out of the box, upon startup, it displayed an error message: “Audio Excellence Canada”).
People do some research before posting dumb comments, firstly thats not a heatsink its a design as the whole chassis is milled from a single block of aluminum and acts as a heat sink. Secondly the display is that kind for a reason. From MSB website: "The LED display, slaved to the audio clock, is refreshed between data processing to drastically reduce electrical interference. The in-house discrete design is then enclosed into its own shielded CNC pocket for optimal isolation." Is MSB expensive yes, but just because you cant afford it, no need to bash the company. Stick to your Denafrips and Holo Audio and be happy!
I would say that MSB probably being one of the most expensive companies making DAC's and there's a dimple on the front face plate. Not acceptable I would say for the money.
