People! they ship the animal overnight so they aren't in the box for more than a day! And in case you weren't looking hard enough, the container had holes!
exactly these people just jump to conclusions that shipping a reptile is bad for It but as long as there is proper packaging there is a 100 percent chance they are healthier than any Pet smart/Petco reptile
**UPDATE AND REASON I STOPPED POSTING*** My iguana ended up passing away after about 2 weeks. He had stopped eating, went into a terrible shed, and passed away. I made sure his humidity was extra high during his shed, and even hand fed him every day, but he just stopped. I took him to my vet, and they said there was nothing they could do. I contacted LLL to let them know what happened, and they offered to send me another one, but I didn't accept it. I wasn't looking for another pet, I was looking out for the other iguanas they had. I personally won't order reptiles online again as my vet said that it could have been a number of things that could've happened during the shipping process.
So sorry to hear that. He looked so healthy, but then again reptiles are masters at hiding illness...gives them a fighting chance in the wild as weak and sick animals are targets for predators that like an easy kill. By the time a reptile looks sick their illness is usually at an advanced stage and it is much harder for a vet to cure them. People with reptiles, PLEASE take your pet to a vet right away at the first sign of illness (look for subtle changes in eating and behavior, and get help ASAP if the are sleeping much more often, acting very tame out of the blue or suddenly not putting up a fight at being handled IF they normally do. Loss of appetite should be seen as a warning sign...unless they are shedding and otherwise look healthy, in my experience, most of my reptiles (iguanas, tokay and leopard geckos and bearded dragons to name a few) would lose their appetite for a day or two right before and during the shedding process. If you live too far from a vet to get your reptile immediate help (1-3 days top) at the 1st sign of trouble or the cost of a vet would prohibit you from visiting one if needed, please refrain from owning one.
I was squealing when I saw him - totally adorable, and you seem to know what to do to make him happy and healthy. My little guy is 5 years old and 4 ft (he's ridiculously healthy) and we wish you both a great time!
I met a iguania at mexico and me and my friend fed it and rubbed its spikes and its skin and it held its head up in the air and he smiled literally he SMILED
I wonder if i could order a consultant for reptile care from LLL reptiles?, shove him in a small box, throw some ice blankets in there and expose him to loud noises, constant un-predictable movement, no food, no water. Why do humans think we have the right to treat animals differently to what we would another member of the human race!
Typical non face to ace comment really that was, i understand how they are shipped, how would you like to be put in a small box and subjected to courier treatment and loud vehicle noises for 12 hours. You are un sympathetic to these animals.
It's incredible that they're mentally sound after getting sent through the mail. "TELEPORTER. THAT IS A TELEPORTER. YES, HELLO HUMAN, PLEASE DO NOT PUT ME BACK IN TELEPORTER."
AW he is so pretty.I remember when my green iguana was that small and now he is 2feet. My iguana is the iguana right be side my comment and I also have 2 picture slide shows of him if you would like to check them out. I hope to see more videos on you iguana I think that he is so so cool.
Held an Iguana, it was 10 times the size of yours, orange with black strips all over Its body, claws were huge & was the size of my arm. Beautiful little guy, all the way from South America. A bit jumpy though when I went to hold it.
I got my baby green iguana today. And she went from bright green to black almost instantly! 😐 all I did was open the box and I then straight away placed her in the enclosure I had ready for her. It's been several hours now and she's finally back to her bright green color. I'm going to give her a day or three to calm down and let her get use to her new home before I try and start taming.
Ha nice, I'm doing the same for my tegu but getting pretty sure it's male so I'm going to name him soon. Anywho nice to meet you, look forward to new videos of you and sir Lucius :)
I owned the same type of iguana once. I didn't know if it was going to grow bigger but I was so sad that it passed away from a infection. It had little dots on his stomach and I couldn't figure it out. I was only 9 years old at the time. But I do remember it whipping me in the face with it's tail once and it hurt like hell lol
Iguanas need a lot of room, food, moisture and heat to keep them happy. Even adolescents, I'm surprised she didn't get whipped, scratched or bitten. that box is tiny and definitely super uncomfortable. I know if that were my Iguana it would've freaked on her the moment it got out.
Nice video :] I love LLLreptile's service and animals. I just never buy feeders from them unless it's like "buy 100 superworms with your reptile." Have you thought of a name?
That's a gorgeous iguana, I really want one so bad but they are just so hard to look after. Also people who are saying its cruel and it should be sent in a bag is stupid, it would be squished to death. Even if its a small space at least its out now instead of in a tank at a pet shop with kids tapping at the glass every 5 minutes.
He's so cute but I will not have them ship my baby like that when I get one, I'll have a nice set up for them to ride back home in. not in a tiny container in a box. >_< I know it wasn't your choice and the company sent it that way so I'm not trying to bash on you at all! He's still very adorable!
Meyliawati Edward They're not that expensive, she said it was 60 with the shipping . The expensive part is the habitat and food, because these things get BIG
I wish I had room for one, can't get on due to size, green iguanas need a lot of space. One of my dreams is to have a big adult female on my shoulder to take outside and walk about. Maybe one day.....
