My first look into made to measure suits from Oliver Wicks. I am on the hunt for the best made to measure custom suit that you can buy on the internet. Every guy needs a staple navy suit as part of their collection and I believe I have found mine. Stick around for additional reviews of Indochino and Combatant Gentleman.

If you liked it, that's all that matters. But it looks like the jacket is a bit too "boxy" for you.

I checked them out and couldn't be any happier. I ordered a navy suit as well with slightly different customizations from yours, and my reaction was wow!!. I used your link , so hopefully they will be sending you a free shirt as they did with my order. I also bought six tie bar dress shirts after watching your review of them (had been on the fence for a while but decided it to try them out after watching your review) And the fit was slightly better than Brooks' milano fit, which has been my de facto brand for years. I would still buy Brooks' 15/35 milano fit though (I'm 6'3" with no shoes on and weigh 175 lb). Twillory on the other hand didn't work out so well ( perfect body fit but the sleeves were too short). Excellent review and keep up the great work.

Sorry, but the jacket just does not fit. The chest is too wide, there's no accentuating of the waist, which creates unpleasent lines heading to the center and looks boxy, the left sleeve has wrinkle issues at the front, the right one at the back, the lapel has no smooth fall but is kinking, the armholes are big like it was a cheap off-the-shelf suit, the right shoulder looks awkward when moving. Nevertheless it has the right lenght. But the shirt sleeves will have to be too long, to get them visible - that's why you are failing to pull out the shirt sleeves at 6:18. They just don't get visible. The trousers are a little narrow - wrinkling everywhere. That's not a good silhouette.

Thanks for your suggestion. Just watched it. At least there is a waist. That's a plus. But the tails stick out a lot. And that makes it look like a mini-skirt - especially because it's also wrinkling like one at the side. That's also because the jacket is too short (not too long, as he says), although that's personal preference. The impression is amplified by the sloppy pants - look where the crotch is (and compare it to the video above). The chest is only a little too wide or let's say comfortable at the front. But from the back you can see there's too much cloth next to the armpits, which gives the typical look of a not well fitting jacket. The left shoulder isn't perfectly smooth and both are really cheap, when he lifts his arms. In case of cheaper jackets you should always choose ones without padding. And of course the sleeves are too long. It's a little funny, that he says, that the trousers have the right length. Yes, for a colorful Italian summer suit and loafers, not for a charcoal office suit. As already mentioned above: look at the inner side of the trousers. It's a total wrinkling mess. And sorry, I can't help myself grinning about the pants at half-mast : ) I'm not sure if I have seen everything, but the suitsupply was the best so far. Although its chest is also too wide, the overall appearance was good. And honestly, I don't want to see this suit above or the Black Lapel in mid grey. I'm pretty sure, that all the MTM-stuff is off the rack as every other suit. He (or someone else - I don't remember) had a second delivery, because the fit was far to wide, and what he got as alternative was smaller in every sense. So they don't adjust the pattern. They only alterate off the rack sizes.

Thomas Wangenheim I thought so too. The pants are pretty nice but the fit of those don’t match the fit of the jacket which in my opinion is too roomy. Maybe it’s because I’m a little more fit compared to him and prefer my clothes very snug.

A nice customized touch is striped silk fabric in the sleeves. However, even big name tailors resist it. They claim that nice striped fabric, usually with a white background, is hard to find because it's bought up by ready-to-wear companies.

Hey love your reviews. You do some of the same exact companies I've been looking at. I noticed that Oliver Wicks actually has an option for full canvas construction. The only other companies, I've seen with this option is Modern Tailor. Have you played around with canvassing construction on any of your M2Ms suits?

I haven't, right now I was trying to get the most comparable suits from each company before I dive a little deeper. Canvas options and repeatable ordering process are certainly top priorities for my 2nd round of reviews

thanks for your feedback. I have narrowed it down to oliverwkicks and black lapel. but companies are mailing me a swatch sample. according to their websites both are higher quality than indichino. Super 120 plus. ps. great videos on your dress shirts too

another really cool company I was looking into was Baynes and Baker. I have seen people with some nice suits made from them and it's actually in a cheaper price point then Indochina or combat Gent

Nice video. Looking forward to the rest of the batch. My question would be how these $500 custom suits compare to SuitSupply, whose suits start at $400. I understand there's no SuitSupply store in the 'burgh so that might be harder to answer.

Yes, but I am always in NYC for work and have gone to their store to get custom fitted for one of their shirts, also have one from MySuit as well. Problem is how similar all of these companies are, not much differentiation.

kongmw half decent wool is $50 per metre. An average suit needs 3.5 metres. Do the maths. They must be using inferior wool & getting the suits made in the far east. If it's too good to be true it is.

Hi I am interested in trying out Oliver Wicks. I just went to Indochino about 3 days ago for my first MTM suit. It is in the making now. However I asked Indochino for my measurements and they will not give it to me. What measurements does Oliver Wick need from you when you want to place an order? How did you get yours? Hm, hadn't looked at Black Lapel but I did just order from Suit Supply for my review video. Quality for Indochino and Oliver Wicks are parallel but the European fit of Oliver Wick's takes it to the next level IMO

Ordered the 4th and received on the 7th, but lost a week and a half in between? I assume you are referring to October 7th based on the date of the video. Is it safe to say you get the suit in around a month?

They have some, but tough to compete with companies like OW and Indochino. I think the easiest comparison here would be Brooks Brothers outlet or JCrew

Oliver Wick use nice fabrics, but in my experience their construction was very sloppy and they completely failed with the fit. The initial attempt had to be returned because it was beyond saving. The second attempt was better but still had to be almost completely remade, and at considerable expense. There are just too many variables with fit and body-type for any online MTM option to be worth it, in my opinion - and I say this as a tall, slim guy who should be fairly easy to tailor. If cost is a concern, you'd get a much better fit, better construction and probably nicer fabrics with a good RTW option like SuitSupply that can be altered where necessary. I'll also echo the comments below - that suit doesn't fit well at all.

These days, SuitSupply. If I recall correctly, the tailoring costs for the Oliver Wick suit were north of €300, so way above what they were willing to cover. My tailor did not have particularly good things to say about the construction either. Definitely not worth it.

You don't send the exact same measurements to different MTM companies. Different companies have different ways of measuring your body. What you should do or should have done (in order to do a side by side comparison) is to send your body measuring according to each company's measuring guide. The suit jacket does not fit you well at all. There is too much room in your chest area. Your waist should be brought in. Sleeves are too long, I don't see any cuff of your shirt. The OTR suitsupply suit in the other video of yours fits you way better than this one and the quality of the fabric looks better. I'm just giving my honest opinion, I'm not hating at all. Sorry if you feel offended. If you are looking for a new MTM suit, you can try out Black Lapel. They make excellent suits. I have 2 suits from them already. They are at the same price point as Oliver Wicks suits, but the difference is Black Lapel don't do deals. If you have made up your mind to try out Black Lapel, give me a shout so that I could send you a referral link.

I have ordered a Black Lapel suit already or I would use the link! Thank you for the feedback on the video, taking no offense in it. Both companies did audit my measurements before they made the suits. which I will cover in the video. Once Black Lapel comes in I will be doing my roundup video. Should have my Indochino re-make in the next 2 weeks as well.
