When I was 12 I was playing outside, building friendships, practicing sports, or church or whatever your thing is not worrying about spending thousands on a purse 😂 what values did her family instill in her? Good for you ! I remember in my early 20’s saving for a really nice watch. Back then in early 90s it was $340, which was a lot back then. Because I had my own apartment, and was paying for grad school I had very little discretionary income. I saved about $5-$10 a week. It was an accomplishment. I wore that watch for years and years until my hubby got me Cartier tank for our 10th wedding anniversary. I love my Cartier, but I think the story of that first really nice watch is a symbol of the values I hold today about working toward goals and not being distracted by instant gratification.
