omg, the comments from people complaining that it’s not an authentic kit are annoying 🙄 shut up! literally use your common sense. obviously not everyone has the resources to be able to afford an authentic kit (speaking from personal experience). let people enjoy what they enjoy. at the end of the day, this hobby is about love, connection, and coping. if you can’t see or understand that, leave the video & don’t waste your energy commenting negatively on it.
Many of us artists work hard for our money. Now these cheap knock off companies in china not only putting out an inferior product but they are stealing our sculpts, our photos, even our descriptions to do it. Making promises to you that you that don't intend to keep, and it breaks trust for those of us who are the real thing. For you it is just a cheap doll, for us it's our living, our art, and our client base.
Oh don’t get me wrong I understand completely I wanted one REALLY bad and almost bought off Amazon and I had no clue these were “forbidden “ 🙄 and I had asked a question and a RU-vidr was VERY NASTY to me about it🙄🙄 like I MEAN NAAAASSSTY! But I did end up getting a real one because I came across a beautiful doll for a VERY affordable price , I’ll just say not much over $100 I honestly was scared thinking it was a scam at one point lol but the artist who made my first baby very nice and would text me, send pics. Video chats the whole nine!!! She’s just fantastic and I’ll probably continue to go back to her because she won’t charge me a ridiculous down payment that I can’t afford all at once. She just says( to me anyway lol) Pay what u can when u can once paid off I’ll ship and she was even willing to take payments for the one I got even tho she was such a low price but that’s the only way I could ever get one So I do absolutely understand. I was just thrown a bit because most RU-vidrs in the hobby and in fb groups are so against it ….. while they buy knock offs of everything else under the sun and seem to think that’s ok I say u either have an issue w knockoffs as a whole or don’t have one at all they pick n choose what THEY deem is right 🙄 I also believe some REALLY carry on about buying fakes and that’s why I was asking because most RU-vidrs I have seen wouldn’t be caught dead buying fakes that’s all I was meaning and what made me ask I wasn’t being mean in no way about it
@@jonesie5607 by the way I would have loved to have a real reborn doll but I could barely talk my husband into the temu reborn knock off doll! He thinks I'm foolish but we recently found out he has leukemia and it will be my way of coping with the stress of his illness.
Hi. It's a fine line because a lot of knock off babies are sometimes not as well done and then the artists feel that will give a poor impression of the overall quality of what goes into making the dolls. There was also an issue with illegal copying of a certain reborn sculptor's work online and breaking copyright and the reborn artists won't support that however, on the other hand reborns are very expensive and everyone should have the opportunity to have one so.... What do you do?. I believe that maybe calling the knock offs " life like" dolls instead of reborn may be better?. When the artist talks about reborning they are refuring to many hours of hardworking and dedication.
Not a dig but just an informative note: Reborns are artist-made so manufactured dolls such as those from Temu are not technically reborns, they are just dolls, and are usually stolen sculpts. The way you can tell if a doll is a legitimate artist-made reborn is if you remove the head, there is usually a serial number on the rim at the very base of the neck part. Copies only have these serial numbers on the neck itself which is visible without removing the head. Many legitimate sculpts have serial numbers on both the neck and rim. Older sculpts may not have markings. Your doll is not detailed because it is not artist made. A toddler type artist-made reborn has just as much detailing as a newborn, but the details are different to correspond with the age of the doll. For instance, less mottling. They are still hyper-realistic if made from a skilled/experienced artist. People presume reborns are expensive, and I guess everyone has their own idea on expensive. But unpainted kits may cost in the double figures. High quality paints and materials are also expensive. I can sell one of my reborns (which are all legitimate kits) in the 300's, and still not make much money from it when I consider the time and all the materials I put into creating the doll, but I do have to consider the market and what people may be willing/able to pay x
Do your research, go to Seena's page For clarification but manufacturered dolls are partly hand painted so are reborn and are NOT illegal. Don't claim ILLEGAL till you can produce proof from the sculpt artist.

Not to judge but reborns are hand painted dolls from artists SCULPTS made into kits. The Temu, Amazon etc. are called manufactured kits.... Just so you know.nNothing wrong with them. We get what we can afford right?
yeahhh it bugs me too that they call them reborns lol. it’s only semantics though, because i’m pretty sure anyone understands the concept of original sculpts being the only authentic reborns !! ty for saying this

bro chill someone buying a doll off temu isn't gonna suddenly ruin an artists life plenty of other people, who can ACTUALLY AFFORD an authentic reborn will be willing to buy from reborn artists I was hoping to join the reborn community, but it all just seems horribly classist get a life ❤
@@gummybear8232 It is a little more complicated, this art form has been niche, it has endured for 25 years because it hasn't been common, it has been expensive, beautiful, and not always easy to find. Once the mass production started and they started stealing our sculpts, our ideas, our photos and videos, our descriptions and using that to market common, cheap, factory made fakes and then flooded the market with them at a discounted price our dolls became less special, less treasured. Yes there still are collectors out there who can afford and can appreciate the real thing but this mass marketing of fakes has hurt us, it has damaged trust, as people receive terrible dolls expecting to get something we make. They assume all reborns are crap plastic with glued on eyelashes. So many artists have worked so hard to establish this unique art form. We hope people will keep appreciating the real thing, but the reality is this may turn us into beanie babies and just oversaturate the market.
