can you roll the side windows and tuck them away in a pocket at the base of the windows? For the mattress, I would suggest a Klymit Insulated Double V Sleeping Pad that I think would fit in there
The doors attached at the bottom are better when camping in rainy conditions. Zipper at the bottom has a chance of letting water in. Since the sides don't have a cover, the rain would go down the sides to the zipper.
Having the side windows zip down is better for cross ventilation. You'll see esp on cold nights. We're stuck putting the ladder on the side for now. I just tuck the side panel and screen under the top mat while crawling in a out. Oh yeah we added two 1" foam yoga mats that helps a lot and you can leave them in the tent. My hip doesn't bottom out now. Also used some packaging tape for the top rack channels top and bottom to cut wind noise. Great customer service, great tent.
Hey man, new subscriber here. Loving your videos! This RTT looks like a good deal. I’m looking forward to seeing a full review after a trip in the mountains! I noticed a palm tree in your neighbor’s yard. What part of the country are you in?
Excellent review, I think you can add instructions to the beginning and have people buy it through a link you can get commission on. I'm looking for that now from you before buying but I'm nit seeing it.
It was really nice informational vdo , I have question about that cross bar on top of tent ,is it enough strong to load 2 kayak around 80lb weight? Thanks
Hi - do you tuck in the liner that sits on the outer ledge of the bottom half when its closed? Have you had any leaking issues? Im finding a decent amount of water under my matress but have noticed that i can see the orange fabric between the seal on the two halves when my tent is closed. Could that be the issue?
These tents now come with even more features. 12V hookups, LED lights, honest to god they're one of the best deals you can find. I have a little Rav4 and it's way too big but I'm putting it on anyway.
@@OverlandFlorida Okay I have it on the car, those poles to hold the awning out are total bullshit, freak me out, and are a huge PITA to deal with. Also it took me like two hours to figure out what to do with them since there's no instructions. The amount of tension on them is utterly insane.
Nice. How much space is there inside for a thicker mattress or topper to still close? How dark is the tent material when zipped up in daylight- is it blackout inside?
There’s plenty of room for 2 adults and a couple backpacks of gear. You could fit something the size of a sleeping bag laid out and still close the tent. The tent isn’t 100% back out, but it is still much darker than other brands of tents like smittybilt or TuffStuff.
There was extra 3 bars with the awning with different curves, does anybody know what these are for or what they do? My guess was for the awning but there’s 3 instead of 4. They’re not replacement parts either because they’re different from the 4 you get
I didn’t even know about this tent until about a week ago. As long as the mail seal that goes around keeps the rain out when it’s in the closed position, the rest of the tent seems to be great.
@@OverlandFlorida ok appreciate it!! I got a 4Runner but it’s at 6inch lift kit with 33s , it clears my job garage at 7feet , but I was wondering if I went with a low pro rack, and this tent setup , if I could still fit in my work garage at 7 feet , that’s why I wanted to know the size l, thank you a lot
I’m waiting on the flip up floor so I could climb straight up from the Forester’s moon roof into the tent. Not having to go outside and climb up on crazy rain storms is a big advantage Thanks for showing 🙏🙏
@@OverlandFlorida it’s not just cutting it needs to have a lip overlay or perhaps some kind of hinges. Very simple to make in-house but lots of fabrication for regular Joes 🤪🤪
nice tent buddy. Is there any way you can tell me how long the two silver mounting rails, on the bottom of that tent are? I need to see if it will fit on my truck rack. thanks, subscribed!
$1200 that is a great price for that tent. My 23 zero walkabout 72 is a nice tent but a pita to pack up. Maybe I'll sell it and get one of these if your review is good.👍
I see. Does it affect your gas mileage that much? I just got my 4runner and I’m planning to buy a rooftop tent, but I’m just worried about where do I put it once im not using it, should I remove it or leave it on haha
@@OverlandFlorida I have a 09 Tacoma, looking at going w the Hooke off-road roof rack and bed rack at this point. How comfortable would you say the tent is with you and the wife? We would also have a 2 year old in with us. Thanks for the replies!
@@Jimbofree93 that roof rack would be ok. A bed rack would be much stronger. It’s comfortable with 2 adults and I’m sure with a 2 year old it would be fine.
Sold the ikamper and roof rack because I need to use my truck bed for a while and don’t want to store those items in my garage. NaturNest sent me that tent to review, that’s how I ended up with it.
@@OverlandFlorida I’m interested in that tent, but honestly I like the other one that has more rain coverage. Idk the model name of it. It’s the one that sales for like $1600 on amazon
Bought one as well and it arrives today. Added two additional cross rails. Anxious for the arrival and hope to get at least one day camping this weekend.
Do you know yet how much weight those shocks will support? I have a couple Roam boxes I might mount on top if the shocks will support them when opened. Or… I may go single box and RoadShower.
