It's kinda sad. One thing that I've always found frustrating about keytars is that they're often so big & clunky, unwieldy & chunky, despite being so funky. And then now here comes the Yamaha Sonogenic SHS-500 that is literally almost a PERFECTLY SHAPED keytar for me. So thin and sleek and comfy and ergonomic, seems like it's perfect for playing live....but then the tradeoff is that this keytar is just incredibly basic and it's sounds are kinda tinny. The thing winds up being more like a toy keyboard for kids than a real, genuine keytar. Like compared to the Roland AX-Edge, this thing just does not compare. I really really hope that one day a company like Roland or Korg or Casio can put out a keytar that's as sleek and compact as the Yamaha SHS-500, while still having professional-level equipment and functions and above all SOUNDS. I really want a keytar shaped like this *BUT JUST WITH A LONGER NECK* that sounds like a real professional keyboard instead of a cheap plastic toy....
I agree, the size is fantastic, but sometimes the sound will come out really thin!! I recommend plugging it into an amp if you want it to have a fuller sound. :)
Hello I am new for keytar Is this shs500 included the speaker also, so is it no need the speaker for output? I can take this to outdoor everywhere and play? Thank you
