Wood-fired pizza is a taste that is hard to beat. In this video, I unbox and do a quick unplanned pizza on my new Alfa outdoor pizza oven.

Was wondering where you get your wood for your pizza oven, which kind and what size I just purchased a 60 x 40 cm oven.

I use Oak from my offset. I get it from a landscaper that sells wood. If you can’t store much, you can look at cutting edge firewood. They ship pizza oven wood. 1.5” x 12” is a good size. 🍻

Great Video! I just ordered the Pizze 4 on the cart. Does the ramp that you roll the Pizza Oven off the pallet come in the box or did you build it yourself? Thanks for your help.

Welp I know how I’m gonna blow my next $5K that’s the plan! Wow is that nice. The KK is great for pizza as well, but this looks like a better idea. Also the Kalamazoo is cool, but I’m not into gas pizza. Thx very much. And enjoy Best Eric 😃

How did you decide on the Alfa 4 Pizze over say the Forno Venetiza or La Piazza Piccolo or other similar? Was it provided by Alfa for you to use/promote? I've been researching/shopping in the $2500-$3500 range, and not seeing where this is worth $5k unless due to the cost of manufacturing in Italy over "designed in Italy" and built in Asia.

It has some unique features like the venting around the chimney. I was sent it by a 3rd party after discussing what I was looking for in an oven, this is what they recommended. I’m sure some of the cost comes from being truly made in Italy. It’s a tough call, there are lots of great options out there! You are looking at some good options as well. Unfortunately, this is one product that I can’t give advice on like everything else I have. I know my smokers, but pizza ovens not so much. It does work well and it’s extremely well made. Love the stainless and quality. You can feel it right out of the crate. It has exceeded my expectations so far, but I don’t have a point of reference compared to the others. Hope this helps! 🍻

I'm running a Workhorse Pits 1969 and like you have been curious as to a wood fired pizza oven so been searching the interwebs for any content that isn't from a manufacturer or retailer trying to promote a particular brand. There are far more reviews of off-set smokers than there are of pizza ovens. I also wondered if one could use a pizza stone on the "cowboy grill" side of the Workhorse and get a similar result to a wood pizza oven? Perhaps someone with a couple RU-vid channels could test that? ;)

I have plans to try pizza on the cowboy grill, but I don’t expect it to come close to the oven. The Yoder pizza oven does a really good job, but the oven flavor difference is pretty big. 🍻

I’m not an expert by any means. I know the Moderna has bright colors and is sleeker to be more modern. It’s also a available in hybrid. The Brio is gas and the Pizzie is wood only. It’s also designed to run high temps with little wood. Hope this helps! 🍻

Cool. For reference the Pizzie is up to temp in 15mins. It holds temps extremely well. I haven’t had any issues being wood only. Flavor is worth it. 🍻

That wood is going to be a nightmare. Why didn't you get the Brio which also has gas, just in case you do not want to mess with that crazy wood?

Because gas has no flavor. Wood requires more work and has a larger learning curve, but the taste difference is night and day. I can already cook a better than gas pizza on my Komodo Kamado so I wanted wood burning. 🍻

Kamados make some great pizza. After trying some pizza in the oven I was really impressed with the flavor. I’ll be doing a side by side with the same dough to compare. 🍻
