Been a crazy week and a half. To wet your whistle for the weeks to come, here's a SHORT unboxing of the latest addition to my collection, a Zastava M70 AK. Subscribe for more great content! Music: Action Strike by Rafael Krux
And make sure you QUADRUPLE check shit when you're ordering parts/furniture/rails/upgrades bc there's so many different things that'll fit a regular AK that won't fit a Zastava
It’s so meaty when compared to standard aks but the whole brand is overbuilt it’s their thing. Shooting it for a while and going back to a lighter one makes them feel squirrelly and jumpy. This thing is solid.
I love mine, it was my first ak, side folder in serbian red, then i got the m77 in .308, next i got the m92 in dark wood. The m70 was my first love so i got it tattood on me 😁
I just saw that model on their website. To use a phrase the kids use, "It's a vibe." lol I'd love to do that to something someday...but...I feel like I'd hate to use a gun I had that was gold plated. haha
Heck yeah, man. There’s something about the Century Arms WASRs… I can’t quite put my finger on it. But I see them all the time pretty cheap at gun shows… maybe someday I’ll get one just to see if they’re bad or just “budget friendly” But yeah- the m70 is fantastic!
@@donwyoming1936 Notice rburrows mentioned for the money. The M70ZPAP is like a tank. I know because I also own one, and it is excellent. Still curious about Arsenal AKs but I may get a Galil ACE instead, though.
@@christopherrobin361a Galil ACE 5.56 would be my 1st choice. Big $$$ I’d love to see the South African version, the Armscor Vektor LM4 or LM5 for sale in the USA.
Ive had mine for about 2 years now. Has a npap before amd the difference is night and day. I put the side folding mag pul on it amd i love it. Its a fucking drill
@Andrew-vw4ld it was purchased through a gun store. Any firearm, unless via private sale (for now) requires an FFL be involved to run a background check and 4473..
Snagged a zpap m70 the last Serb red on DK firearms for under a grand. Comes in with my Bulgarian steel mags and 75 round drum before the weekend. 👍🏻 got an OG m70 pistol grip and sling coming in within a day of it too. First AK platform, and I’ve never shot an AK, so I’m really excited to see what it’s all about.
Great choice, Did you install “Shepards hook” krebs customs extended safety?? I have one, also did the U.S palm grip & Meridian defense muzzle break, Soviet surplus sling. 🙏
Love the furniture on yours. Their walnut looks great. I have the tiger maple on mine. Also sexy. Thought about getting that Russian red wood option for date nights. Maybe I should just get one of each?
Good get beautifully made guns good reliable brand I myself got the one with polymer (I believe) finish I like the ability to add accessories and they’re picatinny rails so very common. Haven’t had any issues at all with this gun (can’t say the same for a lot of other firearms)
If you can find some imported ammo you can still get it pretty “cheap”. $9.99 or less for 20. But yeah- I’ve been seeing US made 762 lately. Little pricier, but it’s also actual brass so I can reload. Hang in there man, and congrats on your new AK!
@@PhantomLlamasDenI really like the battle worn furniture. Not a huge fan of "making new stuff look old " but I prefer the shade of the stain on those and it actually looks pretty good
@CarlosPEnis I agree! I typically prefer authentically aged things (be it home furniture, firearm furniture or stuff in general). But this really does look great!
I have mine 6 year still shooting strong I can count how many issues I had with it with one hand 🖐️ an most of it was ammo related but other than that my go to Ak
@@PhantomLlamasDen I going to say this, out all the AK’s I’ve come across over the years the new Zastava are the best. I have a Saiga and KUSA both rusted in the same spots but the KR103 has a sold build and the Polish AKM47 was ok same with PSA and century weren’t bad but the Zastava hasn’t rusted hasn’t been ammo picky and is over all the best out of everything. You’re going to be very happy with that rifle
@PhantomLlamasDen I bought a Serbian Red one the other day. It's a pretty big local gun shop, but it was the last one they had. Of any color, but I wanted a red one anyway. They still had at least one of the 5.56 model. People are definitely panic buying, but I just found out about these, lol.
The interesting thing is that Yugoslavia had to reverse engineer the AK from captured rifles. Russia wouldn't give them the technical data package for the Kalashnikov. 🤠
I like AK and their variants...but I never owned one, I know little about them. I'm a pistol and knife collector technically. BUT, THE WOOD FURNITURE on this baby is nice, it's pretty overall. So...is this better than the Russian or Old Romanian (as an example) types ?
You are asking a very loaded question! In my personal and very humble opinion- you aren’t going to find a much better AK than a Serbian manufactured one, ESPECIALLY at the price point. Are there differences? Sure. I think a lot of the old AKs are sought after simply because of their rarity and collectibility… that and yes they are excellent firearms. So in this day and age with our market the way it is…you can’t do much better than a Serbian AK. I’m sure I’ll take some flak for that, but damn it’s a beauty!
U got " Gypsy girl." Thats what we call it back home. Definitely best kalasnjikov ever made. I used them all and Chinese Russian and rest of crap will melt in your hands after few thousands of bullets shoot but this baby will continue to sing easily over 10k bullets shot. Just keep her clean and trust me that girl will never let u down. Russian did invented it but Yugoslavia made it perfect weapon on war .
@PhantomLlamasDen I just picked up my zpap m70 battle worn dark walnut today from the gun store and it is amazing! Took recoil gunworks almost 2 weeks to send it. But well worth the wait! I hope you continue to enjoy your rifle
I love the elitism in the gun community. My AK looks borderline identical, aside from being a AKM and switching out the furniture for some midwest industries furniture. However, I know for a fact I will instantly get spit on by anybody for saying that mine is a Century Arms VSKA. God forbid that I buy a reliable gun for a reasonable price. I’m exaggerating of course but I often hesitate sharing videos of it with my gun buddies
I hear you. I think a lot of it comes from people saying “x is just as good as y”. I personally have heard a lot of mixed things about Century Arms. I have seen quite a few videos on torture testing and burn in, and the VSKAs handle just fine. Will they necessarily have the longevity of some AK imports? I can’t say personally, but I lean towards no. The cost has to be cut somewhere. BUT that doesn’t mean you should dunk on a person who is more budget conscious. Unless of course said person is making REALLY poor decisions. At which point you should offer constructive criticism. Don’t feel shame dude. At the end of the day- we are all in this together. We all want the same things- freedom, our gun rights, and low ammo prices!
@@PhantomLlamasDen Exactly, I'm a fan of excellent quality guns like everyone else but obviously, not everyone has the budget to get the most gucci'd AR. If I were ever to claim "Just as good-" then the criticism would be valid but what can ya do? At least I didn't get a Hi-Point lol
@BosnianBornBeast gotcha! No, not exactly. It does, but because of import laws, the Serbian import rifles come in a bastardized manner. Then ZastavaUSA, which lets be honest is run by Zastava, refinished the imports using just enough “American” parts to make the finished AK product satisfy import laws. There’s actually some really good videos out there about the whole process!
Not according to the man who runs ZastavaUSA, a Serbian. After filming this short I actually looked into it and corrected myself to Zástava. I learned something. Haha At the end of the day, it’s more Tomatoe tomahtow than anything. But when the people of Serbia say it one way, I’ll go with that haha
Zastava is a state sponsored military industrial complex. State owned. The only way they get into financial trouble is if Serbia gets into financial trouble.
@@jbone6246 yes it's exist but its not good economy ite exist because its produce for serbian army and outside for usa. But we will see will serbia take foreign company since here starter to open foreign company for other purposes.
