Thank you for thinking of the welfare of wild animals 💙 The turtle may have been a female laying eggs, and that might have been why it didn’t move when prodded. Something else to keep in mind is to place turtles in the same direction they were heading, especially if found on roads. They have a strong sense of direction and will turn back to cross again if placed in the opposite direction. Just wanted to mention this in case you didn’t know. Great video! I have a lot of family history in Galveston, and my family owned a summer home there for many years. The ocean is a special place, even when the water and beaches are filled with seaweed 😆

I really applaud your support of the ocean conservation efforts. With your relationship with this jeweler, could you maybe give them feedback that plastic wrapping and packaging might be better replaced with something that won’t end up in the ocean and doing more damage? The turtle may have been a female (wedged in) depositing eggs? It could be the wrong time of year but they do wedge in the ground to deposit their eggs.
