That is interesting about the oiling. The manual for JukiTL2010Q says to lubricate daily if you use it daily. The walking foot for my Juki is even louder than that. I hate the noise it makes.
@TiffanysQuiltingLife
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Год назад
Yup the manual says one thing. The Juki corp says another. I just oil as needed honestly. So 1 drop before each project pretty much in all the ports.

Thank you Tiffany. I love my Juki just like yours, and it never hurts to have a review of all the things it does and how to use it. I also have problems using the needle threader, and still thread by hand. Have a great day, and see you Sunday.

I'm sure it's been hard having it and not being able to get to use this beautiful machine. I know this was a few months ago but I haven't been online much because of my own health. Blessings to you and I honestly hope you're doing well and have been able to enjoy your machine!! Tiffany is wonderful at everything she does! The presser foot pressure should be reduced when using the Juki walking foot. The manual also says to sew at medium speed or slower with the walking foot. Think walking speed for the walking foot.

Beautiful machine is the needle in sideways for free motion quilting so you can sit to the side of machine to free motion quilting?
@MzTopaz9
@MzTopaz9 Год назад
Yes, the needle is sideways (flat side facing right).
@lucy7b

You don’t move the needle but you can sit sideways and free option from there.
@TiffanysQuiltingLife
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Год назад
Yes the needle is from left to right threading. Its due to a side load bobbin. You can totally turn it sideways and FMQ or leave it in the position you normally sew in to quilt as well.

Hi. Thank you for the info. Quick question, where did you purchase your sewing table?
@TiffanysQuiltingLife
@TiffanysQuiltingLife 11 месяцев назад
My table is an office desk from a closed down insurance office. I spent years seeking a desk with the drawers on the left and open space on the right. This one I got off marketplace after so much time looking. So check thrift stores and marketplace and even the newspaper ads.

@TiffanysQuiltingLife

I only use aluminum bobbins in the TL-2010Q. I have colored plastic ones for my Brother machine. I've also not ran prewound and those are on like a cardboard type bobbin.

@TiffanysQuiltingLife
@TiffanysQuiltingLife 11 дней назад
It's just a drop of oil in all 6 ports. The book says where the oil goes. I oil mine more than the book says, cause I sew more than others. But it's once every few months as the book says.

I was watching Miss Becca last night on her live and asked her what machine she and Ian would suggest for bag making and she suggested this one. I'm leaning more towards the other Juki you have or even up from there. I don't want to jump in and then wish I had got the machine with more bells and whistles so to speak. If I can afford to go bigger (up to $2,500), do you think I should? Or do you think since I am still just a few years into sewing, I should start off smaller...like say a $200 HD Singer from Wally World? I would appreciate any feedback you can offer. Thanks

@TiffanysQuiltingLife
@TiffanysQuiltingLife 8 месяцев назад
I would say this one if your making bags and you already have another machine you do everything else with. It also depends on what kind of bags you wanna make. This will sew through vinyl, leather, cork, canvas and so on. But more and more layers (especially leather) you would be better off with the DU-1181N that I have as well. If you just plan to do easy cotton and mix cotton and vinyl bags or what have you, then I would say this TL-2010Q is a great choice and you save some money since it's under your price point. That allows ya to buy bag making supplies and such.

How is this machine with using vinyls and leather? I'm stuck between this machine and janome hd9 and brother pq1500. Is this more of a quilting machine or can make alot of different things with it?
@TiffanysQuiltingLife
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Год назад
I've used it with vinyl and it works great. It will comfortably sew 2 layers of vinyl and 2 layers of canvas. I've tested it with 4 and 6 layers of vinyl and it works. 4 is good 6 is pushing it and it did do 8 but you'll stress the machine if you sew that much regularly. But I ran leather through it now too and it's great with that as well. Just make sure you get a Teflon foot for it. I don't use it for that no more now. I got an industrial for my vinyl and leather bags. Since I have blown a motor in this model before. But I sew more than average.
