Of those 5 westerns i would say at least 3 are utter masterpieces, and the searchers is in my top 10 movies of all time so you got a treasure to watch

One of my favorite westerns is 'The Wild Bunch' directed by Sam Peckinpah. Kind of a 'Magnificent Seven' type of movie. Great western starter kit.

Awesome Keith pale rider is an amazing movie and the wild bunch tombstone is fantastic my favourite Western is the good the bad and the ugly along with the unforgiven .

Some great films there the searchers is one of John Wayne’s best. The blu ray edition is excellent picture quality is really good.

I'm really happy you have the much sought-after Arrow window box of Zombie Flesh-Eaters Keith. About that, I expect to meet Robert Patrick (Terminator 2) this June, and I'm thinking of giving him one of my copies of VIPCO "Nasty" Strong Uncut Version vhs as a gift. But I would especially like him holding it in his hands when I get a photo with him - that would be awesome. Tintin is excellent! - I've only seen parts of it but from what I have seen that film does not get enough credit. A definite must for my collection - I'm gonna check a decent domestic 4K release of it from an eb seller now. Once again, it's an honor every time you show what you have scored for your tremendous collection!

Keith, one of my favourite westerns is Bone Tomahawk with Kurt Russel. The less you know the more it’ll surprise you!

The truth is that I love motion-capture movies, The Adventures of Tintin being one of them. Polar Express, Beowulf and A Christmas Carol by Robert Zemeckis are among my favorite movies I don't own the Tintin one, so I am green with envy, but healthy envy Keith, you deserve all those gifts from very nice people to the nicest collector out there. Im in shock! No John Wayne Movie? The Seachers is (with Once Upon a Tine in the West) two of the best movies ever made. The landscape at Monument Valley is breathtaking and the part as Ethan Edwards is Waynes best performance. I really hope you enjoy it.

Hi Keith I wanted to ask you a question as it is quite bothering me is that when I’m playing a movie is it playing the sound as it should be heard for example like in the cinema or is it doing it’s own thing even the dialogue I’m asking this as I have the 990c and you have the q90r as they are similar much love and god bless 🙏 I’m also overthinking that my system isn’t sounding how it’s supposed to be even though it’s doing as described

Hi Keith, Good to know you"re giving Westerns a shot, & that Western collection set is the perfect one to start as it contains all classics, as a long time western fan i was quickly drawn to the Eastwood ones but as i"ve got older i"ve got into the John Wayne ones a lot more , as we spoke i knew "Rio Bravo" would be to your liking as i was a big fav of John Carpenter as was "Red River" "The Searchers" is a classic & superbly shot western, "The Wild Bunch" was a turning point in American westerns as film makers went down the more violent route from then on, "Pale Rider" is a very good one even though Eastwood has made better it holds memories as it was the first Eastwood western that i watched on screen. "How the West was won" another classic in this fine set, enjoy the movies, useful recommendations from Gordan 👍, but i will say the Eastwood dollar trilogy movies, "High Plains Drifter" also with Eastwood as the theme would be up your alley, plus the upcoming 4K release of "Once upon a time in the West" That"s awesome collectors edition of "The Adventures of Tintin" great stuff Keith.

Keith "The Wild Bunch" is fantastic. My, my, you are in for a treat. Sam Peckinpah`s movies are good, but The Wild Bunch is great, It`s about holding together ,no matter what . When William Holden says "let`s go" my god, just wait and see, hope you make a review of the movie, when you get to see it...

I honestly didn't rate "The Wild Bunch." I much prefer spaghetti westerns, I just like the style more. The best ones I've seen and can recommend are "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," "Once Upon a Time in the West," "A Fistful of Dollars," "For a Few Dollars More," "The Great Silence," "Death Rides a Horse," "Keoma," "Django," "The Big Gundown."

If you're interested in getting into westerns I'd like to recommend a few gems. For Clint I'd definitely recommend the Dollars trilogy, Unforgiven and High Plains Drifter I'm sure you've seen your share of Walter Hill action movies so I'd highly recommend Long Riders. Sticking with Hill, Last Man Standing is Prohibition era but still very much Western, its bullet heavy and very John Woo style if he ever did a western, and has a great cast starting with Bruce Willis and Christopher Walken If you want to go modern try the new Magnificent Seven with Denzrl or 3:10 To Yuma with Christian Bale I know you're a Sam Raimi guy so check out Quick & The Dead And finally for something outside the box I highly recommend The Proposition with Guy Pierce.

It seems like those western sets would be a good start, but "How the West was Won" and "Rio Bravo" are disappointing Hollywood soundstage sets for the most part and Bravo is more about at Ricky Nelson song than an actual river. Wild Bunch is pretty good (runs long) and Pale Rider will be the most authentic. (I haven't seen Searchers). Dig a bit deeper and check out John Wayne in "The Cowboys" and Jeff Bridges in "True Grit," both are terrific stories. "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" is my favorite so far. Recently watched John Ford's "Stagecoach" which was interesting, if you can get past the senseless killing of settlers and Indians.

Man I love The Adventures of Tin Tin by Peter Jackson. Captain Haddock is hilarious. Amazing cinematography. What a stunning boxset edition! We really need this in 4k asap.

John Carpenter has said in numerous interviews Assault on Precinct 13 was his version of Rio Bravo, very much a film of its time but quite a charming little Sunday afternoon film in its way. For a western I would recommend the Coen Brothers remake of True Grit, a fantastic film.

There's also 2 French live action Tintin movies that are really good, Tintin et le Mystère de la Toison d'or(1961) and Tintin et les Oranges Bleues(1964). And you can watch all the cartoon episodes dub in English right here on RU-vid.

There are so many great westerns out there and very different in style. The dollar-trilogy is easily my favourite and Eastwood has many great westerns. Then there's 3:10 to Yuma, The Sisters brothers, Tombstone, Bone Tomahawk, The assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford (great soundtrack), True Grit and many others. Deadwood is the best western series out there. Great video Keith.

Hi Keith , I had to mention Sam Peckinpah’ s Pat Garret and Billy the Kid coming in July from Criterion, Wild Bunch one of the top 10. Westerns are exceptional on 4K with the right treatment, gives me a break also from the bombastic sci fi and main stream real eases. Hope all is well my friend.

That bust of snowy is amazing. I will recommend bone tomahawk aswell as a modern Kurt Russell Western or a more pseudo Western. I'm always looking for Westerns to get for my dad at good prices on bluray as he's Western mad. I was able to get the 3 volumes of the German edition Western collections, 9 Westerns in each volume so that's 27 Westerns and was happy to get them at £32 total.

Hey Keith some grate westerns to start off with in the box set. There are some good recommendations as well like Hostiles and 3:10 to yuma. The hateful eight was originally going to be a sequel Django but Tarantino changed his mind while writing the script. I would also highly recommend Bone tomahawk with Kurt Russel. Happy viewing.

So many outstanding westerns! Good the bad and the ugly. Unforgiven. Tomb stone. The cohen brothers true grit. Open range. There's loads of brilliant ones. Recently got Rio Bravo 4k steelbook. Amazing. You've got lots of great movies to get through!
