I'm not a huge fan of modern architecture, but your house has a way of sitting in the landscape that despite being totally untraditional it does not, for some reason, seem out of place. I think it's the dimensions and proportions, it's got quality but it is not trying to make itself bigger than every other building, there's a modesty in it's modernism that I quite like. I like the light going into it a lot also. It's not a lifeless brutalist block, it's just a house. A very modern one, but still a home. You guys will be happy there for a long time I think. Congratulations.

Amelie has excellent interiour design skills, I like the minimalistic style very much. Also decoratively speaking your new double bed is gorgious, but trust me, nothing competes in sleeping quality with Hästens beds. They are so good to sleep that we have both in our home and holyday apartment Hästens Herlewing double bed. It weights 175 kg and sleeping on it feels as light as lying on a cloud.

amazing! thanks for inviting us along as your dreams become reality! omg, I have a love / hate relationship with moving. a couple of times now when I moved I have just sold my furniture with the house so I wouldnt have to move it AND of course so I could get something new for myself. and yes, unpacking all the boxes, assembling the items and getting rid of all the packaging seems like it will never end but you just do one thing at a time and before you know it you are done! I havent quite done anything on this scale but I did renovate the basement of my house in Canada from bare concrete walls to a livable space with living room, bedroom bathroom, office almost totally by myself. and it took 6 years, partly because of needing to budget it out over that much time. anyways, amazing editing and camera shots as always! I loved the opening sequence set to the music!

Hey guys! I've been a fan of your videos for a while now and love how you’ve embraced the Madeira way of life - it really makes me proud to have foreigners moving in and loving our island. However, I have to express my concerns about your new house. These boxy, shiny, pseudo-modern buildings are really starting to alter the traditional charm of our beloved island. While I understand you built your house with a vision in mind, it's disheartening to see such modern structures popping up. The lack of sensitivity from the authorities (and indeed from the owners / investors) towards maintaining Madeira's architectural heritage is quite upsetting. Calheta and Ponta do Sol are really good examples of how such buildings have defaced our rocky and ruraI landscapes. Hope we can find a balance that preserves the island's unique character for future generations. Wish you all the best!
