I had this handlebar very high on my list as well because of its ergonomic shape and backsweep. However it doesn't come as narrow as I wanted. For those who have narrower shoulders and/or want a race orientation, suggest the Ritchey Butano bars with 18 degrees of flare and which goes down to 38cm wide. It also has a gentle backsweep and the ergonomic-aero profile of the tops feels so good in the hands. Maybe you can review this too, if you haven't already!

Can’t wait to see this build. The components are interesting❤❤ It would be nice if you could do an actual bike fitting episode, explaining seat height and stem length. 😊😊

I can’t wait either! I’ve done a few bike fitting episodes. The challenge is the client needs to be willing to be on RU-vid. It’s getting more and more challenging to find people that want to be public 😭

@@SeeYouUpTheRoad I had a bike fit when I upgraded my bike. I’m just curious because my bike stem was shortened due to the new frame dimension 😊

@@bb-r5710 gotcha! Bike fits are very personal and specific to you and your bike’s geometry.

Excited to see this built up! I’m a big fan of alloy parts on gravel builds. Race one time on a gravel course and your carbon frame will not look the same. Ride on gravel often and before you know it, you will see down to the carbon on some spots. To me steel or ti on the frame is a non negotiable!

FSA Adventure gravel/cyclocross bar is my go-to bar lately. Heck of a bar for $25 on eBay.

I tried the Salsa Woodchipper with 25 flair, the 46cm width. I hated it. I tried on my next build and hated it on that one too. I think the radical flair just doesn’t fit with me, nor the 46cm width. I also think that the wider width and more flair just drops me too close to my front tire. Obviously on climbs it’s not an issue but on descents it’s not a good riding position for me anyway. Now on my more trail purpose gravel bike I have the Whiskey Parts Spano bar with 20 flair. I also went down to 44cm. I think it is pretty much,personal preference on these micro details but for me I like to be more upright when I descend trails but road don’t mind getting lower but I don’t think really wide is just not for me.

@@hardmtnbiker I’ve never been a fan of a flared handlebar. Thanks for watching.

What's the main benefit of a flared bar? More mounting space for front bags?

I think with a gravel bar it's for increased stability and control on rougher terrain.

I don't notice much difference in control between flared and non for control. I'm currently on 36mm 5 degree flare on my gravel race bike, you just get used to the narrowness after a while. Biggest advantage to me for flared bars how much they save your wrists from getting beaten up on gnarly descents. My favorite bars are Daija Farbars which have an extreme 40 degree of flare. I just wish they came in a narrow version.

I'm using an 80 ml stem, how short is too short?
@SeeYouUpTheRoad
@SeeYouUpTheRoad 15 дней назад
I speak purely on theoretical basis. The following statement is a very generalized statement. I know nothing about your body proportions the choices your Bike Fitter has made or the geometry of your bike. I tend to think that stems below 80 mm are too short ideally above 90 mm , 100 mm should be the sweet spot ,110 mm and above are for experienced riders who are looking for exceptional handling on their bike personally, I ride a 120 mm stem. Let me reiterate, these are generalized statements and they may not pertain to you.
