100% agree! The fit is very nice on her and I’m in love with the magnetized jacket to say the least. I tried not to bash on the portrait too much as it is rather old, but overall for the price I paid it’s exceptional! 😄
Great review. I've been enjoying going back and watching reviews of older figures I have for some reason. The arm wraps discolored on my Rey over time, and one of the tassels on her staff broke. Glad yours still has the sleeves intact in the original color.
Thank you! I haven’t gone back to watch any of the older ones. I’m too scared, lolol! 😭 - I hope it isn’t too embarrassing. Interesting, I just went back a few weeks ago to look at the shelf and mine hasn’t yet. I hope it stays that way, but sorry to hear yours had an issue over time. Just in case, if you aren’t familiar with ToyAnxiety, they part out figures for accessories and parts. You might be able to find them there. 😄
@VictoriasCantina I recently bought this figure brand new and unopened, but upon opening it, I noticed the upper sections of her arm wraps were a very different colour to the lower parts and jacket. They were a distinct 'dusky pink' colour. Is this the discolouration you were referring to? I thought maybe it was a factory error - especially after seeing the same colour mis-match on the figure that Justin's Collection reviewed six years ago.
@@VictoriasCantina That's what I initially thought, but the pinky colour looked very even and kinda 'deliberate' to me(?) and then when I saw the (then) newly released figure with the same pinky uppers being reviewed on a Justin's Collections video from 6 years ago, I thought for sure some of the figures must've been released that way. Were the arm wraps on your figure the correct grey colour when you bought it, only for them to gradually turn pink over time?
I put all my figures on a stand - Prior to collecting Hot Toys I collected 1:6 scale military figures, which didn't come with stands. But after waking up in the middle of the night to the sound of figures falling to the floor, I rectified that. On my Star Wars figures, however, I don't use the manufacturer's stands - they vary too much in design, too flashy in some instances, and have nameplates I don't need; I want to notice the figure, not the stands. So I use the same, simple black u-stands (crotch grabbers) on all my figures. There are a couple of exceptions - I have to use the manufacturer's stand for the Midas Iron Man, since its so heavy, and the base for Grogu's floating pram. And the base for the dark side Anakin.
Interesting, I would probably end up doing the same if had I deal with hearing my figures crashing down like that. I wish I had the space for some of the cool bases/speeders like Darkside Anakin and Darth Maul’s speeder, but Detolfs can only take so much. 😅
@@BostonCollectors That's what I don't like about Detolfs - from what I've seen, you can't even put an upright Chewbacca in it. My collection is scattered around the house, but getting some wire shelves, which will have to do until I can decide on a more permanent solution.
As a fan of rey.I hate how bad they got the portrait, the rest of the sculpt is ok. But she has a big forehead irl.. shes still pretty. But, I also agree about the body. Lets stop giving the females these perfect body sculpts. Just mirror thier real life counterpart!
