great review whenever buying a tool you should not have to rubber band it from day one thats only for a 20 year old remote control :) , but since you're stuck with it i would suggest you turn turn the wheel to the middle where its most sensitive and just take out the wheel and in its place put a switch that you wire straight to the battery so that you can open and close the circut that way you dont have to fiddle with the wheel and tuning every time you have to use it, so you atleast dont have to lose your mind everytime you turn this piece of E-waste on.

Hi, It's Billy Carmen from Wizard Industries. I am sorry you are having some trouble with the Little Wizard. I see the issue you are having. You are not tuning it correctly. Learning the tuning is vital. To use and tune properly (as in the instructions) have a fresh nine-volt battery, turn the dial only to the halfway point just to the point right where it stops beeping, then adjust the tuning screw very slowly right until it starts beeping, then adjust the dial again just to the point where it stops beeping, now test some metal. You should have much better results. I had seen you were adjusting the dial all the way to the top. That is not correct. Adjust the dial only to the very point where it stops beeping. The screw is used for fine-tuning to get maximum detection. I created these back in 1999, and after countless units sold globally, we have always strived to take care of our customers 100%. If after you tune it you need a warranty replacement, let me know as I'm happy to have one sent. Yours looks like it took a beating. Happy Woodworking! Thanks a ton, Billy Carmen
