I agree. We do that at my kitchen. We also have a "cover" for our kitchen aide so that it doesn't get "dirty/dusty/etc" while it is sitting in the corner and then need to be refreshed before we can use it again. You can have a plain clothe one or you can get some cute prints as well. I'm sure you know when you are cooking there is always "something in the air" that generally rests where you don't want it to and builds up.

I have to say, I was an avid fan of the channel and then I kind of wavered away from it. I thought that the channel was becoming more of an influencer/promoter channel. But when I saw your last video explaining what was going on and how real you spoke to us (not saying you were ever not real) about social media and life, I respected your honesty so much. I felt like I was sitting in the kitchen listening to a friend while catching up. Life is so hard for all of us, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. You absolutely did not have to explain anything to us but you did. Thank you for again showing us that part of you again. Blessings to you and your family 💛

Your little kiddos red bowl. You can repurpose it on a vanity, in a bedroom drawer. Hold your watch at nite, jewelry, little things you need to contain in a drawer. You can justify keeping it and it won't take up space in kitchen unless you repurpose it there. You can keep it. ❤ From a sentimental fool.🙂 ❤

My tip for storing spices is to put them in a dollar tree container/basket and load like spices together if possible. Then when you are on the hunt for the chili powder you can grab the container out and then you aren’t having to pull spices out individually or knocking some over reaching to the back. This has been my go to for years and it really works well for me. I also do the same thing in my bathroom with over stock shampoo and the like. I also do this under the bathroom and kitchen sink, with cleaners. Hope this works for somebody!!!

I do the same thing in my kitchen for my spices. They are on one shelf half on a lazy Susan and the other half in small baskets for regular cooking and another shelf with baking spices and spinkles. Taking in consideration my cabinet is 30".

One thing to keep in mind is to ask yourself what are the necessity items that you need in the kitchen on a daily basis. For me personally its the dishes, silverware, glasses, utensils, mugs, spices, basic baking dishes and my mixer. Everything else goes in my pantry. Sometimes having cabinets super full is not the most practical

Appliances in the pantry would free up space. That long tall cabinet is where I would put daily used things...cups, mugs, plates, long baking casserole dishes, water bottles, and baking sheets. To each her own! It will take time to get it functional. Have fun with it.
@lindabudzik9583

There is plenty of room for you to lower the shelf right above your glasses so there is more room for mugs. You could then lower the next shelf to leave even more room at the top. I have had wood sheets cut to the same size as the shelves and easily added another shelf if there is room. You can buy a bag of the clips that hold the shelf in place at any hardware store-they are inexpensive. In your sheet pan cabinet, if you removed the shelf, you could file everything in that cabinet like they are books. You’d have much more room, too. Can’t wait to see the pantry and food storage room. We don’t have huge pantries in most houses in our area and I’ve never even heard of a food storage room until I started following you. I find them so intriguing! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Congratulations on the new house! Can't believe that you got all the things in the kitchen cabinets! One thing you might do is reconfigure the shelves in your drink cabinet. Lower the middle shelf so there isn't so much space above the glasses. Get another one of the wire shelves, and you can stack your mugs that way. Looking forward to your pantry and food room videos!

I have had a Kitchen Aid mixer for over 35 years(same one) and have always had it on my counter top. Only a couple of my kitchens actually had enough cupboards to house it, but it has always been an integral part of my food prep. Plus, as I get holder, I don’t want to have to lug it out and set it up each time I use it. I store all the mixing components (whisk, beater, and dough hook)in the bowl and tuck in a pretty tea towel, keeping it dust free. Your kitchen is lovely!

33:48 there's bamboo knive blocks for inside drawers that are about the width or maybe slightly larger than half that drawer. The ones I've seen always have double rows, so your knives are inside the bamboo and just the handle sticks out and then deeper in the drawer it's the same thing again. I hope that explanation makes sense, but what I hope this conveys is, that it uses the depth of a drawer and the blades of your knives are safely away.

Tea kettle hidden away 😂, hey we're all different. In my kitchen its the only thing on the counter, used 6-10 times a day, speeds up cooking as faster to boil water, makes tea, pour over coffee, hot water bottles for bed, green veg like brocoli cooks better when you pour boiling water over, the list is endless. In UK/Ireland/Australia just called a kettle and i think we all use it all the time.

Just keep the basics that you need every day in your kitchen for now.like you said there is only 4 of you at home now. I'd have put theed glasses up on top, unless you use them more than all the mugs. Otherwise put the mugs nearest you. You will figure it all out as you use it all on a daily basis, what should be nearest front , and what should be further away or indeed in storage. ❤

A great tip I found was to use an old pillow case to put the electric griddle in so when putting things on top, it won't scratch the surface.

I use the lazy Susan for spices. I put my most used top and front so they are easily accessible right when you open. The big Costco spices fit on the bottom

So for your spice cabinet to the right of your stove, top shelf, I lay down and stack my tall (lids facing out), fat spice jars and and label the lids with a sharpie so I can see everything I have at a glance. 😁

I store seasonal pans like your fall one with the decorations. I have a super small kitchen so whatever makes storage easier. So Easter chocolate molds are with spring decorations, fall/thanksgiving stuff is with that, Christmas is with those decorations. Saves me valuable space in the kitchen!

Put sweet baking spices in the other cupboard to the left of the extractor fan and all dinner spices to the right

I have a ton of spices too. I hung a wire shelf on the inside pantry door and I keep a few of my favorites next to my stove.

I have a similar corner cabinet that I bought 16 inch lazy susans to go in, and I put my spices and most of my baking stuff into it. Just a thought! Also, realize that you are now going to get 27 "Sweater Weather" mugs from us, your faithful viewers!😂😂😂 Oh! One more thought! Put a paper plate or something under your waffle maker to protect the nonstick surface of your griddle.

We moved 2 years ago and I’m still going through stuff and re-organizing! 😂 Idk if this was mentioned or not but lazy Susan’s work great to store small but bulky kitchen appliances you don’t want on your kitchen counter but that you still want easy access too. I store my crockpots, food processor, instant pot, ice maker, waffle maker, and ice cream maker in mine. Anyway great job. It’s a lot of work to set up a kitchen again!😊

We moved into our house 3 years ago and I think I've completely re-arranged my kitchen at least 3 times haha. You just don't know what will work until you try a few things! Have fun!

Your kitchen is beautiful! I was wondering if there is a pull out cutting board right above the drawer where you have your knives stored? I was just curious as it looks like there could be. Have a great week! God bless you!

It looks like the logistics and the season of life may be indicative that minor decluttering is called for. I am still raising teens and small children so I am not there yet but I imagine the transition from large family of 6 back to a “normal” size of 4 is quite an adjustment. I don’t use my KA mixer but I love it so much I love seeing it on my countertop. I have a WWII fighter plane decal set on it! 😍

I buy in bulk, so use mason jars for my spices. Then I take the air out of the jar so they stay fresher and you can store them in your food room till you need to refill your small jars. I don't have any upper cabinets in my kitchen so had to get creative. After your using your kitchen for a while, you might change your mind where some things will be. It's a work in progress always.

Your kitchen looks so nice!! I recently went through all my kitchen stuff, I found that going through the utensils in the crocks and down sized the duplicates and the ones that I just didn’t work well and then you have more counter space 😉

You can do like me and use under the sink for bakeware or pots and pans and free up your other cupboards for other items. All my cleaning items are in washroom/pantry And i never have to worry if grandkids or little kids come over

I always keep lids on anything that has a lid. Even pots and pans. They never get lost and they are always handy.

We actually do have our plates in a lower cabinet. The kids were little when we moved. They could reach them to put them away and get them out to set the table. In 30 years we've never seen the need to move them. They aren't at floor level, the shelf of the bottom cabinet.

From another shorty, in your glasses/mugs cabinet, I would bring the second shelf down and the third shelf down. You can double stack more, and it will be easier to reach the items on the top shelf.

Hey Kimmy, not too many years ago, I set up my own kitchen cabinet about the microwave oven in my "1-story" Georgia house. My 2 reusable Pioneer Woman condiment squeeze bottles separately have mustard and pancake syrup. My 2 larger reusable Oxo condiment squeeze bottles separately have ketchup and honey barbecue sauce. I have 2 round plastic canisters that have unsalted peanuts. I have 3 red boxes that have shredded wheat cereal. I have a box that has drinking straws. I have a round plastic jar that has masculine multivitamin gummies. I have 2 gummy organizing containers. There I have 'em. They belong in my cabinet. After I move back to Virginia someday in the future, I want my own cabinet in a "2-story" house.

Use command hooks inside of the baking cabinet to store your measuring cups and spoons. You could also hang your Bosch and kitchen aide attachments there too.
