Welcome to what is now becoming traditional, a man cave unboxing video every time I get home! I hope you enjoy, sorry from the glare from the window, it was a nice day!
Lots of luvvlies there Jamie! Always fun seeing boxes get opened. Bit of tech/directors help; there was a 'fogged-box' that popped-up during one opening, and it hopped-and-skipped around, at one point it covered your mush (maybe you were uttering something obscene?!) but eventually it went -only to reappear later. Looks like the sort of thing you'd use to hide addresses or similar? Maybe an inadvertant operation clicked on by accident?
"One must be smarter than the piece of machinery you're attempting to operate" 9:20 looks like the box was winning for a moment there 🤣😂 always fun to see what other people are getting in. Look forward to the in depth reviews you got in
Hi Jamie, 'just finished the fabulous Arma Hobby 1:72 Sea Hurricane so I thought I'd do a jet next, the Modelsvit 1:72 Mirage 2000C. I did start that kit some time ago but lost interest when three of the four TINY main landing gear torque links vanished from my workbench when I was distracted by some jet noise outside. I've now had a burst of energy and using the one remaining as a pattern I have scratch built three replacement links so I'm back on the task. Enjoy it if you manage to fit this lovely kit into your amazingly busy programme. Your new magnets and thicker elastic thread sound like a good plan. BTW if a significant number of folk mispronounce AIRES then the people who invented that word should have thought of something that was more likely to be said correctly. Believe it or not I have heard "QuinetiQ" pronounced "kwinetic" not "kinetic" (and not to be confused with the Chinese kit manufacturer). Pete.
Hi Pete, I've done 2 x 1:72 Hurricanes, both Mk. Is and they are lovely other than the tick canopy (I sanded mine thinner). As for Aires, maybe if they spelt it with a Z on the end...? Oh, and modellers need to stop mispronouncing it too of course!
Jamie just paint and decal one side as the original RN scheme, then do the other side over all grey scheme. That way your friend can play spin the Harrier.
Nice haul. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with the Sea Harrier. I'm certainly interested in some of those 1/48th Spit conversions. I'm with you on Aires, the amount of people that move the i without understanding what Aires means.
Thanks for that, Jamie, always look forward to these - you'll have to come home more often. By the way, what was the blurry oblong that looked as if it was trying to obscure things?
Can I give a huge shout out to Mathieu of Laminar flow designs. He posted my conversion and well..... Things went slightly wrong. He must of spent a lot of time dealing with the various post office's. Re sent it out with some extra goodies, for my inconvenience! My inconvenience??? It was poor Mathieu that was put out...What a great person he truly is!
Fun video to watch, but next time, maybe just close the curtain while filming. Everything is washed out. Another suggestion, and this is for all unboxing videos: Before you shoot the video, it would speed things up if you went through and pre-opened all the packages and make sure all products will come out easily.. You can then stuff them back into the packaging for the unboxing effect. Some unboxing videos waste a lot of time fussing with packaging.
Trouble is mate it didn't look so bad on the screen when I was filming it, and the camera is crap in my phone! I may well cut open all the tape next time but some people like watching the struggles believe to or not!
