i've got one in a 66 mustang with that same amp. here's something funny. i replace a pair of 10 inch sd4's with the 1 u12 and had them put the smart 3. i got the car and was driving around thinking i didn't get much of a difference, still couldn't barely hear the bass. about an hour or so into driving and listening i seen the bass knob. i felt stoopid, lol. turned it up a bit and was all smiles, lol. i also have a jeep patriot with 2 u12's and a taramps md5000. the bass is so freaking insane. makes you feel like your gonna have a heart attack.
Weird they don’t take the extra step to bolt the spiders down if that capability is there … usually sundown does all the extras like that… cool vid bro thx I think X is more up my alley cuz I run 10W7AE so I’m thinking the XV2 is going to be a great comparison. Nothing wrong w the JLs & I love them but u know as car audio ppl we always want to switch up lmao
Dam I like that sub sundown kinda pricy so are sundown subs hand built and assembled rather I'm Gona bite bullet and get at least two of the 15$ and yes keep that kinda content on the Chanel
I haven't pushed the limits in these yet. But I would assume you would be fine with putting a 3kish per woofer at them. After reactive rise your probably fine in the actual 2kish real wattage range
@@AntonJMiller *I guess my question is which Subwoofer should I go with Wolfram AU Gold 12 rated 2500 rms or Sundown Audio X rated 1500 rms? I just want to be heard from at least 2 blocks away. Also,I like them Lows.*
Zv5 replaced zv4, and honestly the xv2 is also very close to zv4. The zv3 was thier 1500 watt traditional surround. So they rotated out to the u series for traditional surround vs mega roll in the zv5. When zv4 was out they had both zv3 and zv4 available. So to stop the confusion they made a new series.
@@AntonJMiller yeah when I was saying I see what they did I'm not knocking sundown but it seems they capitalized on what they already had with the Zv2 turning into the new U series and the Xv1 being upgraded to the Xv2 by utilizing the Zv4. Then that left room for the new Zv5 and it looks like the NS series it's all by itself
Bailey Basshead I learned on Facebook from Jacob’s friend that owns Stereo Integrity the shipping on the 24’s is insane. It’s only worth it if you’re shipping them in bulk. Considering supply and demand isn’t that huge for 24’s, maybe Jacob decided it’s not worth it profit wise? For the team series I heard Jacob is not too happy with the massive weight of the motor for them. I’m petty sure he said that on Facebook a while back.
I recently scored a U-18 and couldn't be happier with it. It is absoloutely massive and sounds fantastic. Powering it with 1,600rms from a MMATS Hifi4250 and it drops quad in a 4 cubic foot L-port enclosure.
Love sundown! My sa in sweet box with PDX M12 don’t disappoint! U SERIES IS/looks INCREDIBLE! Zv6 FORGET ABOUT IT! Once u go sundown ther ain’t no turning around!
@Anton J Miller, so how does this compare to the SA V.2? Besides power handling would you say both are very similar? It’s looks just like a SA V.2 ...You should make a side by side comparison video of the 2 subs...
How dose this compare to the X series I am looking into getting etber the U10 or a X10 on a sfb2000. Would that be a good setup and witch do you personally like better plz help me out if you can! Thanks for the great vids
The x has much more throw and smoother sound. The u will likely get louder in a traditional sense where the x will sound better and can be just as loud just might not feel like it's louder.
Both are great for daily. I would say the x is more for accurate sound and low end extension. The u is more along the lines of a traditional sound, little more peaky.
@@AntonJMiller what would u say is more made for music ? cos most vids ive seen is the X doing decaf and U more musical but i never heard in person so idk
@@Nico-jk4sb they will both work well given they are put in the proper enclosure. But the x is more naturally a low end beast and u series is more traditional and a little peaky
Orion customer service is the worse in the business these days. I was a dealer for them in the late 90’s when they were in Tempe and they were one of the best back then
@@AntonJMiller Man, I got an box already made for the 12sa V2 since that was my original plan. Till I've seen the u12. Not im debating if the extra power for u12 would be worth it but worry may I need to get a bigger spec enclosure to get the sound that I'm liking . 🤣
@@junballs6576 from the v2 to a u your not looking at all that big of a performance change. But could be worth it if put in the proper enclosure. If I had to guess the enclosure you have built is probably fine for a u if speced properly for the v2.
@@AntonJMiller Yes. My guy went with specs for the 12sa v2 & had build the box for my liking since I needed the truck space. Now for sure u12 it is. Thanks for all your help. Subbing right now. 🤙🏽
I'm doing the same exact thing I'm looking at these right now because I'm upgrading my system but I just want slightly more power but I wanna use my custom box made for sa12's
