I'm a 31 year old man now, decades out from my Pokémon addiction. But something about this dude just brightens my day to see how truly in love with everything Pokémon he is! Most of the people opening packs and boxes now just know "ok I'm looking for these 5 cards and they need to have nice corners and be centered. But PokeRev stays dropping Pokémon knowledge all throughout his vids. Be it through calling out entire evolutions of every different Pokémon and what year and set they first released, or pulling out a 25 year old reference to 1 obscure episode of Pokémon where 1 of the trainers didn't want to evolve his Eevee! Keep on the grind Rev, your passion will keep you going well beyond any fad driven hype craze.

Im 31 too and when i was around 12 I transferred into magic cards because the cool kids stopped playing pokemon, in fact I was so embarrassed to even consider pokemon. If I had only just bought one pack from every generation and not given in to peer pressure...

i'm just starting to get back into Pokemon after leaving it back around 2004 when i was a kid. This is extremely satisfying to watch, these were all the cards i had when i was young. i wished i kept my old cards after knowing how valuable they are now but my old cards were peeling and bended so they wouldn't have sold for much anyways. if i ever wanted to collect cards again it would be from this era, and only a few cards for my favorite Pokemon like the starters, legendary birds, Mewtwo, and even go for Lugia, Ho-oh and Entei, Raikou & Suicune. i dont have any clue about any pokemon after Hoen region lol.

@@arthurfleck4320 you’re probably right, I’m dabbling in multiple investments. I’ve put quite some recently into cards, only because I loved them as a kid. Either way hopefully I’ll get my money back if need to sell them, or if not I got cool cards to stare at I guess haha. I have some in crypto and am thinking about silver possibly.

@@arthurfleck4320 I don’t plan on getting rich, I’m think maybe in 20 more years it possibly doubling, but my hopes aren’t any higher than that. It’s just cool to have old shit in good condition I guess, and the nostalgia of being a kid, That’s what reflects the prices. If the market doesn’t tank completely from communist takeover hopefully they will keep their current value at least. If shit gets crazy I can’t do much with cards that’s for sure.

crazy to think that when i was a kid i used to think those reverse holos were garbage. for sometime the rumor was that those were stickers and kids would try to peel them and ruin the card. anyone else remember this?

All things considered that was one crazy awesome box openings! Not only for the pulls but for the nostalgia as well! Absolutely nuts. Also first time watcher and new sub here man! You cracked 150k subs during this and a few short months later you're at 325k! Keep it going! Slight spoilers below for anyone wanting to watch the whole thing through.......... The fact that you ended up pulling all but 2 from the box was nuts, Would've loved to have seen the other 2 hit but still enjoyed watching throughout!

I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't even a quality control. The quality these days and centering is downright abysmal and disgusting. I truly hate every single card apart form gold cards.

I'm sad I'll never be able to open packs like this :( I love collecting but it's immpossible to get any cool rare cards for a collection. The prices are insane, everything is practically sold out. I've open some vivid voltage and maybe a handful of evolutions packs. I love collecting and I don't want to stop but it's hard when you can't get anything special to call it a collection cause everything is tens of thousands of dollars. I'm not hating or anything just venting. I love PokeRev and think he is such an awesome and passionate guy that jumped into it at the right time but also kept working at it. It's almost near impossible to start a collection with a $400 per month budget

Who had the strength to keep those in mint condition, sealed, for 20 years, have my respect. I bought a few days ago an evolutions box with the intention of keeping it sealed for 20 years so my future kids could get some big 💰 for it...it’s useless to say that I’ve opened it the next day 😭

The dent in the giant charizard topper, Has me wondering if anyone ever tried cold pressing a holo card; to remove bends or dents similar to how one would heat press a comic? I would imagine if you do a heat press you might end up with bubbles or cracks, just curious🤔

Watching these made me dig up my binders of cards from 99-2002.....couldn't believe how many great cards I had that I forgot about. Also, I have a bunch of Rocket cards, however when I was young, I let some kid convince me that the R on the cards meant that they were "RARE". Kinda funny to look back on all this shit and realize how much money they fetch.

With these cards being worth so much now, I'd be surprised if a factory in China hasn't setup machinery to duplicate these to an undetectable level. They're not exactly complex in design. I know there are "little" things that can give it away, but they just need to hire a PokeProfessional to advise them.

The machinery to needed to manufacture the cards to an exact replica would cost millions of dollars. I’ve read that the printers used by WOTC were custom built to their specs and cost over a few million each in the 90s plus the cutters then entirely different machinery to replicate the packaging and boxes. Then outsourcing to get the exact same card stock and holo foil plus labor to manufacture and keeping it secretive enough for people not know it’s going on. Not saying it’s not possible but it’s just not worth the risk for the reward pretend they are successful and are printing team rocket. All the sudden there’s thousands of team rocket boxes on the market and the price drops to nothing. Going though all that work it would be worth to attempt starting a new TCG.

I remember these things being duplicated almost as soon as they came out way back when. We had a dollar market that used to sell them but obviously they weren't of the same quality and even children could tell them apart. I wouldn't be surprised with their surge in value if people in China wouldn't just repurpose machinery they already have to make a quick buck.

@@seaeff6428 China does this all the time. They have entire factories and industry set up with the expressed purpose of creating knockoffs. Insofar as there is a reasonable profit to be made with the lax laws surrounding things like intellectual property and copyright they will most certainly invest in such machinery or which is much more likely and what they are known for try and repurpose existing machinery to suit that need.

I've got a charizard reverse from legendary thats been in my collection since I was a kid. Somehow managed to keep it decent (not mint) when all my other cards are heavily played. Now, as an adult, its the highlight of my collection

Started watching these videos recently after I found my old pokemon card collection. It's been in my basement, all cards in sleeves, then in a plastic container, that container inside a large plastic tub, so everything is in Near Mint condition or Mint. Haven't had anything graded yet but have quite a few I'm sending out.I believe I have several error cards too if I am not mistaken...I have at least 3 so far that I believe are errors, Shadowless 1st edition Dratinis? And I almost have a completed Shadowless base set, and almost completed base set, only two more to finish my Fossil set. Over 3000 cards to sort through so its taking me a while haha

I remember getting the starter deck. Like legendary starter deck was soo damn good. Reverse foil zapados common charizard like oh my god it was great. Lots of charmanders charmeleons. ,Such a cool starter deck. :P I loved it ! :D :D :D ! I was also super glad to see this come out later because I didnt really buy many packs in the day. I maybe bought a total of 10 packs since they were so expensive :(
