Day 1 ally z1 extreme user here, havent had a issue with this unit yet since release... ive played COD other great games on thia device. Isnt 120 fps but 60 fps doesnt bother me.. its like having a mini computer basically.
Lew should give prices, available upgrades with pricing... longer videos. Bring back Lew Later to discuss products like this in more depth and detail with Will's and Moe's input. This is why I have to watch Flossy Carter or MKHB, which can be a "good" or "bad" thing depending on how you look at it.🤔 Thanks to Unbox Therapy though.👍 I'm still a FAN, long time sub, NO hate, just LOVE and BRING BACK Lew Later!!!🙏♥️✌️
Asus is under a lot of heat, like a SD card in a ROG Ally, but they really do give you a lot in the Ally. It has power, speakers, battery, and VRR in 1080p.
I bought the first one, sold it, and pre-ordered the X. It played a very good amount of AAA games. The thing i loved about it was the mods, third party mods to run cooler are what's really nice about it.
@@Mike-wc3jo Steam deck can run Cyber punk at 40 fps. Its actually runs really good at low wattage compared to the ROG ally. Mainly because of its Custom APU and optimization. Not sure about this new one, but this one is packing twice the battery. For the price of under 400 bucks Steam deck is the King for budget hand held.
Ya know... i can see this fixing problems people have with the switch, but i would be worried that if a stick gets messed up or even worn down, i have to take it apart or buy a new one. Thats the main reason i never tried to buy any of these... though i would love the versatility, i just dont want to drop that kind of money on something i cant just replace the controller on.
I am 33 and I have always loved gaming. Ever since I got married I couldn’t separate the expenses of my family. I have been helping my family with everything. I don’t have a job that pays too well. I always wanted to buy a handheld console but couldn’t afford it. Don’t even have much time to play games but the handheld would have helped me getting back to gaming and in releasing the Stress. But as I said I wish I could afford it
Oh nice man, nobody asked. You’re a grown man. If you want something go fucking get it you could be making money but instead your commenting on RU-vid about how bad you want it. I’m 27 don’t have a high paying job but I have everything I’ve ever wanted including a ROG Ally. Stop being a peasant 🎉
I prefer black, especially if you have sweaty hands. Although white looks great, it does collect grime and turns yellow over time, so you dock it and it defeats portability
If I had never bought my regular Ally, i'd be super excited for this. Super cool upgrades. I like the two C type ports. However, my regular Ally works just fine and i cant justify buying another
@@Onsombowlyou can’t assume anyone’s financial situation. These things are expensive. Not a lot of people can casually spend half a grand on a console. Not without saving, loans, or monthly payments. I’ve been super poor in the past and these things were simply a thought, never a reality.
@@girtzjeffreyI don’t need to assume, he’s telling everyone he is poor, at the end of the day there’s wants in life and there’s needs, if you want something in your life you work and save to get those things
@@Onsombowl true. Only thing is when you truly are poor, work can become a burden. Even if you get money out of it. Perhaps bills take all that money. Of course making money at 11 is nice because the only thing you pay for is literally your wants. But true. You have to save to afford such things and the majority of people can do that. Just don’t want to.
It’s like these things come out with a new version every other month. They should focus on more software support for these than just pumping out more devices
I have the original ROG Ally and I don't see any reason for upgrading since I have it docked 90% of the time, and even if I play handheld, I still plug it for sharp performance. I must say though I am very very pleased with the original. I'll probably upgrade mine in the next 5 years if games start being more demanding and the Ally has gone through a few iterations!
All it improved was the battery and ram. Everything else they changed no one asked for. They need better customer support. A track pad at least. Also fix the heating that burns micro sd. For that reason that's why I love my leigon go. It has all those issues fixed.
I have the Rog Ally, and I havent had any drift what so ever. Most drift are due to dirt getting stuck under the joystick. Just gotta get compressed are and blow it in their. Fixed
I like the dark on3 however... If there was secondary color like stripes or grid style tints...😂😅 Would be a bonus...❤ It's one of those items you wanted to have 20 years ago but hd to 20 years... Better late than n3v3r❤....
Has Lew lost his enthusiasm? Or is it just this video? This is my first time back in like 6 years and I remember laughing my eyes out to his old videos! Please tell me he still makes fun videos!
He has grown up, Now it is what it is. I've been watching him for more than 8 years, back then he was so funny but still i like his videos still great to watch.
Everyone changes over time, - including yourself. You have probably matured over the last six years and aren't going to laugh your eyes out to an unboxing video.
Thanks for the work and generosity to share with us. Im trying to determine how well it can play overload in my Steam library, I know it can play, but how well. Can it play MS Flight sim 2024 and how well.
I’m looking to get one of these handhelds. I got a PlayStation portable as a gift that I’ll return to help offset the price. Should I get the x, the original or is there something else. Need your expertise chat.
09:00 - So the battery for this console is about 5000mAh. For 120 hz display 1920x1080 running The Control or RDR2 this thing will last like... 2 hours?
I love how the device looks. But. I wish it supports physical games. And not just digitally. I hope Sony can build something similar to this device. Come on Sony!
Havent seen this channel in a long time and this is the first video i watch. Its nostalgic since i first remember watching this channel in high school. It makes me feel like im in high school again lol.
I've been seeing more and more of these types of devices from brands. But I don't understand how they work? Is it basically a hand held computer? Are you able to play games off of steam? What about Xbox? How would one play Forza Horizon if they don't use the cloud gaming?
I think the track pads on the steam deck are awesome, but tbh that's the only plus that the deck has over it. The Rog is substantially more powerful, feels way more like an actual handheld, and it runs windows so you don't have to deal with the run arounds of a device that runs on Linux...i.e. unable to run and play xbox GamePass games natively and can only use GamePass by streaming with the steamdeck I suppose one could also argue the display is a bit better on the deck, but a lot have said the rog allys screen is pretty good for it not being an oled, make that what you will 😅
So, if you get one of these and want to upgrade the SSD straight out of the box, are you able to do that before initially booting it up? Or do you have to boot it up, turn it off and then install the new SSD?
You don't have to boot it up or anything. You can pop it open, switch to a bigger storage and you're good to go. If you don't want to go through the process of cloning the drive you can use the cloud recovery and it will set up Windows and everything on the new drive.
@@Greesher What? I didn't say anything about using the SD card. I'm talking about switching the stock SSD with a bigger drive, because that's what the conversation is about.
The white looks better, until you use it with your grimy Cheeto gamer hands, then black makes more sense lol. Something more fun would be best, like a blue and red or something.
So... the only difference is more RAM?... The CPU was already bottlenecked at the 16GB of RAM being maxed out... But leave it to people to spend the extra $200 for nothing. lmao
