The CruiseTipsTV family is setting sail on Royal Princess very soon, and as part of our Princess MedallionClass cruise experience we need to get “Ocean Ready”. Getting Ocean Ready is a simple three step process that will quickly prepare you for your Medallion Class Princess cruise, and ensure you breeze through boarding on embarkation day. Since we always like to pass on any tips that might help fellow cruisers, we decided we'd take you along with us as we get Ocean Ready. Rather than telling you how it works, we’re going to show you, at least as much as we can. Before we do, let’s clarify what Medallion Class cruising IS and what your Medallion actually DOES. I just returned from a Medallion class cruise on the Regal Princess. My sister & I were definitely Ocean Ready before we sailed. We ordered the wristbands and they worked like a charm. We had a very easy embarkation because we were Ocean Ready. No waiting. The staff knew who we were when we approached them. Within 10 minutes we boarded the ship. We never had any problems with the medallions working. As we approached our cabin the medallion would communicate with the cabin and unlock. We ordered drinks and the staff found us. Because my sister & I downloaded the app we were able to locate each other, which I loved. Very impressive, any questions I'm happy to answer.

Just got off a Medallion Princess of the Caribbean cruise this morning! The medallions are a fantastic tool for enjoying your cruise. You feel connected to your cruise mates, the crew and the ship. You will love them.

So glad I watched this video. I had thought my medallion wasn't fitting in my bracelet when my husbands snapped right in. I didn't know that your name goes on top - tried it again and it popped right in - thanks

Love everything about the medallions, accessories, app, medallionnet, etc… except that they won’t ship it to us Canadians. I’m sure there’s enough of us sailing on Princess for them to justify a small distribution center to ship us medallions as well. And one for the Brit’s, and one for the aussies too!

The medallion features are great! I just returned from a cruise to the Mexican Riviera on Royal Princess. Especially loved the feature to easily locate shipmates.

If you already have a watch you can order watch adapter for Carnival Ocean Medallion from Amazon. I did this in 2019. I am sure there are more choices now.

Thank you. Important information about placement of the medallion in the wrist band for the magnet to work properly. That was not in the instructions for my bracelet.

Just got back from medallion cruise on the Sky Princess. It worked like a charm. you also use it to access your photos that were taken by the ship photographers. I do wish they would get rid of the lanyard and make the wrist band be the default. what do the different colors for the medallion mean? I know it is some type of ranking system.

Blue = A new cruiser , Gold = 2 or 3 completed cruises , Red = 4 - 5 completed cruises or 31-50 days at sea , Platinum (silver) = 6-15 completed cruises or 51-150 days at sea, Black = 16+ cruises or 151+ days at sea.

March 16, 2023 - no instructions arrived with our medallions. We got the lanyards with a clear small plastic ring to hold the medallion. Also, we got some blue ring thing that we have no idea what it is for and it does not secure the medallion nor can it be clipped to the lanyard.

Nice. Hmmmm.... I get the hands free door opening. I like the idea about ordering food anywhere I think you should be able to that with the app. I do not like extra stuff. So much I have a cellphone purse for ship days that will hold my card no lanyards for me. I hope I can use Celebrity app for opening door etc. I surely enjoy your excitement. I am pulled into it and was going I need....then paused wait you would not like the band or lanyard. Lol!!!

We got a few days ago. We ordered 2 sports bands but when I ordered them they only had either kids or adults in sizes. The ones that came we’re too small. I noticed now they have actual sizes. I hope we can exchange onboard as it’s too late to order.

Because of the magnetism on the OceanMedallion, should it be kept away from wallets / credit cards? Or is the magnet not strong enough to demagnetize cards?

how much were the wristbands. You said the Medallion is MAGNETIC? If so it will connect to the back of a cell phone case that has a magnetic on the case.

Hey Brad- I’m not sure the magnet works that way, but you can give it a try. If you have an iPhone, and you could attach it to one of these handy little wristbands.amzn.to/3jFAYch The wristbands are typically about 15 bucks and up on board.

Medallion contact number in the app for Australia has engaged tone. Cruise cancelled on Coral Princess 22/08/22 DineMy Way reservations don’t work. You enter the details and confirm and it doesn’t register. Some ports still shown as QDN! Princess selling cruise with new itinerary. Previous contract terms acknowledgement not recognised. I had to do this again. Previous payment for my wife not recognised and cannot change within the app. Once all 4 back to back cruises were there in the app. This no longer so. The medallion pre cruise is a massive FAIL.

Thank’s for the information. Going on a medallion class cruise to Alaska next may. Quick questions about Princess: Can we bring our own sodas on board? Do you know the price for a soda if we don’t have a soda package?

I have seen that soda is $2.00 each and I believe you can bring sodas on board. We leave Saturday for our royal princess cruise and we are planning to try and bring a case of pop on. We decided not to do a drink package as we are only doing the 5 day cruise to cabo

I think they want to track your every move, like Disney does now at their resorts. It’s all for their marketing departments on where you may spend money. 1984 . Nice review of the process Sheri.
