Great looking machine. The "bench top" design is quite nice in that it doesn't take up a ton of room for its bed size.
@MakerExperiment

Greg's Garage it is definitely more compact that my other one. It is nice to have a bench top style machine.

Would love to see a setup for ( for dummies) video Thats step by step. Some of us aren’t that gadget savvy and have a huge learning curve. We have been told the easiest way to setup is with USB.

Congrats on the getting the machine. I think I'm going to buy the Fusion edge 12x24 in a couple days. I'm just having a hard time figuring out the wattage I want or need 40 or 60. I think most of what we'll do is engraving some cutting wood (hardwood like walnut 1/4 inch).
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment 3 года назад
day work you can cut up to 1/4” with a 40 watt. You can cut 3/8” with a 60 watt. You will be able to machine faster with a 60 watt in most cases.

@@MakerExperiment Video's you could do 1) Let's see the camera in action. Print on a laser printer, and walk throught the workflow of cutting out the design - like a patch of a cap. 2) Let's see the benefits of the job manager 3) Side/side comparisons of your current machine to new machine. 4) Any work flow differences in the machines 5) I see you do a lot of wood & acrylic. Let's see some engraving on denim, caps, leather & fleece shirts.

Is Epilog Canada still around? I am getting zero response from them and trying to get a financial quote on the Edge 12. I find this laser will fit my requirements the best. Thanks for your video on the Edge 12.

prince2thethrone the 60 watt model starts at $18,500. I don’t know what the 50 watt will be. The machine starts at $13,500, so my guess is it’ll be near the higher part of the range as a starting point. I can get you in contact with them to try and help you get that information. Feel free to email me if you’d like that.

I would like to see a comparison between the Epilog Zing24 50W & the Edge 50 W
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment 3 года назад
Donna Brown that wouldn’t really be the right comparison if you’re wanting to see the old vs the new. The Edge and the Zing are two different levels of machines with different components. If I ever get access to one, I’ll try to do it. The comparison I am working on is the Mini 24 vs the Edge.
@donnabrown2962
@donnabrown2962 3 года назад
Ok. I guess I understood the Mini was being replaced by the Edge. Just trying to figure out whether the difference in price between the two carries that much value. Thank you so much!
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment 3 года назад
Donna Brown the Mini 24 is being replaced by the Edge. As of now, there is no news on whether the Zing will be replaced.
@donnabrown2962
@donnabrown2962 3 года назад
@@MakerExperiment yes I understand. Trying to figure out whether the higher price of the Edge carries that much more value than the price of the Zing24. I like the idea of the camera, but what else justifies the higher $$?
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment 3 года назад
Donna Brown the differences I know of off hand are the motors which relate to speed, the camera, it predicts the time for a job, the touchscreen display, machine memory to save jobs to the machine directly, ability to WiFi connect, resolution is fully flexible on the edge and not just major steps, it has lights inside the bed, magnetic vector table, safeguard clean features, and I’m not sure what else off hand at the moment. That’s just from memory. I’d have to get a run down from them to see what else. I’ve never actually owned a zing.

I'm curious how the fiber laser is operated. Does it use the same gantry system (as opposed to galvo which is way faster)? What would some use cases for the fiber laser be? Thanks!
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment 3 года назад
Marcus it uses the same gantry system and is not the galvo style. Use cases would be primarily metal and items that are larger than some galvo beds. You are correct that it would be slower than a galvo system.
@MarcusRitland
@MarcusRitland 3 года назад
@@MakerExperiment Cool, so for example you could do a big metal sign without marking spray that the CO2 laser needs. And it's more for marking metal, and not really for cutting metal, right?
@MakerExperiment

Marcus that’s correct.

I received my new epilog fusion edge 12 x 24 this week. there are no instructions on how to install the small compressor pump 5/16 30 psi. Could you please help me?
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment 3 года назад
Badge Busters there’s a port on the back right of the machine. Your compressor should have a hose on it. Plug that hose into the port on the machine and the other side into your compressor. That should resolve your issue.

And $5,000 extra for the upgraded tube??
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment 3 года назад
Chris Garrett I’m not going to say it’s a cheap machine because it’s not. It’s their middle tier offering. As far as what goes into the tube differences and the components that would have to be upgraded with the tube increase, that’s a question for Epilog as I’m not sure what drives that. Keep in mind, they have the Epilog Zing that is a lower price point.
