@JD Don't be like that, it's like saying plastic are dinosaurs because it's made of oil. So Aristides guitars consist out of mostly dinosaur and a little bit of recycled plant.
@@ZachMcCordProg I`ve heard about those and reviews are usually mixed. I`m mostly interested in composite materials, otherwise, I already have a 7 string guitar
Hey, fellow Vancouverite here. Just received my H/07r with M7s last week. Amazing instruments. Not sure I see a 9-string in my future but maybe a H/08.
For the price of those kind of guitars I'd expect a hard case. Yes mono gig bags are high quality but a custom hard shell case is still nice and any guitar over 2000 should come with one.
In my opinion it shouldn't. Both the old Mono gig bags they used to use and the new Quantum Industries gig bags they use now are fucking amazing and keep your guitar MORE than safe enough (to quote Andrew from this video here: they are just as secure as a hard shell case). It also has the added benefit, that you can actually carry it around way more easily, because, well, it's not a hard case and you can carry it on your back. Those cases also offer way more capacity to store various things like cables, notes, power supplies/power cables for pedals or amps etc. The hard cases I know only have a very small compartment, where you can store an instrument cable and maybe another cable, but nothing else. Also, soft cases are easier to store in your home, because they don't take nearly as much space as a hard case. I would absolutely hate, if these guitars came with hard cases, because of the reasons mentioned. Even objectively speaking, these gig bags Aristides uses are just as safe as a hard case (which is the only benefit hard cases have over cheap gig bags) and have way more benefits. So even just logically a hard case wouldn't even make sense in this....case.
They're as secure sure but I still prefer a hard case especially when moving. They're more easily stacked and can have things stacked on them properly. You can always buy a gig bag after the fact but for specialty guitars like this GOOD LUCK finding a hard case after the fact. That's why I say they should come with one. A gig bag is much more easily purchase later than a hard case specifically made for that guitar.
@@ThorsShadow I had guitars in real cases ran over by trucks/vans by accident while rushing to gigs and the guitars where still intact. Good gig bags are not guaranteeing the same level of protection. As well as the stacking situation previous mentioned by another comment. Sorry but a bag is def cheaping out on an otherwise premium experience. Would much rather buy a bag after initial purchase than a hard shell case. The lack of one included especially on a unique shape makes them not a consideration for me but hey, clearly a lot of ppl accept getting less for more $$$ which is part of why the industry/market is in the way it is now.
I see your point, however, I hate hard cases. I would much rather have a solid gigbag. Unless youre going tour with several flights, I just feel its a lot of extra bulk
Scalloped frets wouldn't be recommended for 8 or 9 strings simply because in the notes they are normally tuned to are too low for the scale lengths of the instruments. The strings being so loose would make it quite difficult to not press too hard and have the fretted note go sharp on the low end. I say this being an extended range player now who previously primarily played scalloped 6 strings.
@cool guy from 2007 Ynwgie also has been playing scalloped fretboards almost exclusively since the 80s. I am sure nobody else has 40ish years of experience with scalloped guitar fretboards. I did that setup ages ago and good look playing any kind of aggressive rhythms on it. Great for bends though
What other brands make 9 strings other than Agile and Aristides? I think Agile sounded better is it because it's made of wood? Also I've listened to 9 and 10 string guitar songs on RU-vid but found the 9 string guitars more musical than the 10 string guitars. Is it just me?
I see that you’re playing in the classical position. Do the tuners rub against your right leg a lot? I think that is a common problem for headless guitars, especially for people who play in the classical position, so I am wondering if there is no issue with aristides h
@@BaenaCarcosa hey thx for the quick reply man! I see. How would you compare the comfort in the classical position between the h08 and 080s? Which one would you prefer?
