Looks pretty sweet. Will you do more livestreams relating to the material? I think it would be pretty interesting to see you try to build a character after you've gone through the material with pen and paper. Like you said, Demiplane takes care of it like ddb, I'm curious what the actual process might look like.

I’m glad they sent you a copy. It suggests that they are at least open to criticism after your frank (and correct) assessment of Candela Obscura.

They seem to be very open to criticism with this new game, especially since they’ve been specifically asking for people to give more feedback. Candela was probably a good learning experience for them that made them realize how important feedback and development is.

Gotta say if i was a casually shopping and saw that box sitting on the shelf at the game store, my interest would be piqued even if i didn't know what it was.

This definitely looks like a playtest kit - essentials, a couple of extras, and it looks to be of good quality overall. What do you think of the sidecars?

My friends and I were talking, and one reason we feel it's getting a lot more harsh critique is how "finished" it's being presented. I wonder if that's hurting the reception.

I mean its not finished that's why it's in beta. They opened it up to critique so that it can be improved and I'm sure the game we see now will be changed by the end sure to said criticism.

@@houndgirl7365 I don't disagree with anything you've said. The point of my original comment is that the fact it looks so polished it's inviting harsher critique than it should.

@@kidmurdock It explicitly states wherever you get the source materials that it is a beta playtest and they are actively soliciting feedback via surveys. If negative feedback comes from it will be because people did not have a good time with the system in its current form, not because of expectations it is a complete work. Nobody is saying it is complete anywhere.

@@ItsDeffoChris I think my point wasn't stated correctly or as clearly as I meant. Simply was ruminating whether if the perception of being in a near finished state is drawing undue criticism.

@ItsDeffoChris that may be the case, but it *looks* really put together. If it was a bit shoddier *looking* people would be thinking of it as a beta more, possibly.

I'm eager to see your input as a game designer regarding the Daggerheart system. Or for that matter, any other fresh RPG you care to do a deep dive on. MCDM's game, Crown and Skull, Coriolis: the Great Dark. Anything that catches your fancy.
