Thanks... awesome to hear his story! It's been a dream of mine since childhood to find something like that... unfortunately I've lived in Louisiana most of my life and very few gemstones 15 minutes outside New Orleans 😂. So thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through you guys for a few moments....

Living on the Texas Gulf Coast, I know the feeling of having 50, 000 ft of sedimentary mud underfoot. Unless you can get to a salt dome, there is little chance of finding any interesting mineralization.

I am so so so happy that you made a video based on AZ minerals and crystals. I have become so fascinated in rockhounding and the education about it. I have hiked to the Four Peaks mine and found tons of Amethyst tailings there. Calcite, Payson Diamonds, tons of colorful agates, Chrysoprase, Chrysocolla, fossils and petrified wood all around north AZ myself on my hikes. Thank you

loved the petrified wood with groutite. apparently it's part of the diaspore group, but it has manganese instead of aluminum in its lattice. another mineral that grows on (coalified) wood is the newly-discovered fiemmeite, a copper oxalate hydroxide. i looove the combination of the blue-green blades of fiemmeite and the black of the charred wood. very aesthetically pleasing

This video was amazing. I live in Arizona by Cavecreek and never knew all the gems that come from here. Do you have a exhibit at the Tuscan gem show? Would love to meet and see all the beautiful gems in person. My love of this channel is the education..Thanks so much. Our planet is truly an amazing place that created all these Minerals and crystals

It is! We do usually have an exhibit at the gem show. But in the meantime, if you're in Tucson, be sure to check out the Alfie Norville Gem & Mineral Museum. Elizabeth designed many of the displays.

I love Arizona a d am fortunate enough to have 4 brothers-in-law that worked the mines. Two work The deep rock mins of Superior. I am a inveterate rock lover and for almost 40 yrs I was gifted mineral and rock specimans. We went on many rock hunting jaunts. I'm not able to climb cliff or crawl into holes any longer and I miss it so, therefore I watch your present and remember TBE fine of yesterday and the lovely rocks I have in MT yard in my house in jewelry the joy is endless. Thank you so much, Mona M.

Boy, one thing that I love about living in Arizona is the beautiful desert landscape it has. Geological masterpieces and wonderous mountain landscapes and forests. I love seeing the places, not a fan of the heat though. Also, you mispronounced Mohave and Ajo. Ajo is pronounced "ah-ho" and Mohave is pronounced "mo-hav- ay".

Very interesting and entertaining information on many Arizona mines and sites. There are also other turquoise mines not mentioned. Most all the turquoise mines and mining in AZ was just tailings from copper mining....not the main target for mining. Also there are the "Payson diamonds" near Payson, AZ, ie the double terminated quartz crystals similiar to "Herkemer diamonds"

I like this host, she’s not laughing non-stop, she doesn’t pretend to not know what the specimens are before talking about them, AND she says mineral specimens instead of calling them gems all the time like the other hosts! I’ve watched like half of all your videos today, good stuff don’t mean to be knit picky ! but this is the best host I’ve seen yet, talks more naturally, feels less like there’s a script.

An interesting thing about the old mine in Bisbee. They eventually turned it into a giant open pit mine and yes, they took a LOT of gold and copper out of that mine. The funny part is that when you drive through Bisbee, on one side of the road there is the giant open pit mine and on the other side of the road is a rather large mountain. Anyway they did a lot of core sampling back in the 1980s and they found out that they dug on the wrong side of the road! Several companies have tried to go in and get the rights to mine it, but the city refuses to allow them to create another open pit mine to extract it, because the Copper Queen pit never got filled in the way the mining company promised it would. So now all of that gold and copper is just sitting there underground with no chance the city will ever issue permits for mining it. Not to mention the fact that whoever did it would have to buy out all of the people that have built houses on the side of the mountain.

@@somethinginthewalls388 Go north and and ask people what it is. I personally have had to explain and show so Many this unique gem. Even most of the locals who live here in AZ are unaware of it. Besides doesnt hurt to ask to do a video on a gem. Specially when you missed one while doing gem stones from a state. That would be doing a video of gems from New York and not talking about Herkimers.

I work in the morenci mine! So while we DO produce minerals outside of copper, they do not produce it for production. We actually "waste" chrysocolla and other minerals into dump sites or creating roads. For legal reasons I have a ton of chrysocolla specimens I found in my back yard! I also have a gem Silica specimen and chrysoprase I found in my back yard! As well as a piece of hematite with garnet

I found a pocket of minerals and I have been searching for help identifying truly unique stones. You guys are excellent, thank you. Can anyone help me with my issue. Specific gravity indicates rare minerals and gems but I must know for sure. My local north museum, and college with meteorology are not interested; therefore are no help. I am concerned about natural asbestos also. I believe there is a lot interesting crystals of course, being in crystal territory in PA. I found what looks to be a very important and rare discovery of many incredible things. I so very much need help figuring out what exactly I have stumbled upon in my newly reanimated rock collecting hobby I started again two years ago. I found something wonderful and I am hopeful one of your team may possibly be willing to come and check the scene. Let me know. Thnx and take care

The pronounciation of "Mazatzal," by the people who live there is not at all phonetic - there is no way to know how to pronounce it, unless someone tells you. It is pronounced, quite illogically, : "Mah - tah - zal." Also Ajo is pronounced in the Spanish fashion : Ah - ho (I know, I lived there.)
