Not sure Ill jump on 1 since I already have the old strongarm, but appreciate the review. My current old school strongarm, and its big brother the LMF, have proven to be great tools.

Like others I have the LMF II and the Strongarm already. Used the LMF II for years and my favorite gerber knife. I like the idea of this camp knife but for me I'm happy with what I already have.

Good review of the camp knife. I was pretty excited when this was announced. Disappointed that the blade wasn’t longer. I have the LMFll and the original Strong Arm. Both of these are longer in overall length and blade size at or over 4.8. One of my friends I camp with has the KBar BK2. Blade is over 5. It’s a great bomb proof camp or anything else knife.

Gerber makes a great knife, but for $90, I'd rather purchase an ESEE for my camp and bushcraft needs. Great review!

I had a Gerber Strongarm, and it was a great knife. I just could not find a way to make it feel good in my hand when I was using it for various tasks, though. Something was odd to me about the shape of the grip that I could not get over and wound up giving it to my daughter after she completed the Pathfinder School Basic Survival Class with me. While I really like the looks of this newer version, I'd be afraid if I bought it that I'd have the same issues I had with the original Strongarm.

It does look pretty similar. Felt comfortable to me, but I haven't put a ton of work in with it yet.

IMO, the Strongarm and Strongarm Camp are good knives, just at the wrong price point. I got my Camp for $50 through their Pro program, and at that price its a solid value. I bought it as a cheaper alternative to my Cold Steel Master Hunter. But at the standard going price, it would have cost me what I paid for my CPM 3V Master Hunter, which is just crazy. Mind you, it was a good deal I got on the Master Hunter, but still.

Yeah, agreed. It’s a solid knife but price point puts it into competition with some better options.
