I’ve switched back and forth from a Shield to a G43 a few times & I always go back to the 43 due to comfort and 100% reliably so far. I carry the flush with magguts. Best warm weather carry option imo. Great choice 👍🏻
Have you felt the new grip texture on the newer shield 2.0's though? I love them! I've had 100% reliability with the g43 but I have to admit that I had 100% with my shield as well. I'm loving the g43 more and more but I do miss the PC shield trigger. Looking at a p365 or g26 for my next subcompact. Hmmm
Btw, I've wondered about the reliability of magguts. I was a little apprehensive with extended base plates but I've been running taran tactical +1 and +2 with zero issues so I'm very happy. :)
Smith & Wesson came back with the M&P which is an excellent firearm and different calipers much cheaper than a Glock a little bit but they're not doing too well as far as retail goes and they have a lot of problems with lawsuits going around so I wouldn't be so anxious to go for one clock is much better with this service department too the Smith will make you wait two or three months before they return your gun back to you and you have to pay for shipping this is what I hear from different people they have them so do what's best for you I would just stay with Glock anyway who wants to have magazines made out of things to steal they slept out of your hands and then you have to fool around with different things to get the slide off Clark is much easier that's why you are your police departments carried them they even have the Glock 43 for backup gun they put it right in their pocket 😊💯
I've been a long time shooter and EDC. Run the gamut of 1911s to almost all of the poly guns and have carried Glocks throughout. I've never felt the need for anything smaller than a G19. I must admit that the new magazines that allow for decent capacity in Glock sub-compacts, my curiosity has been piqued.
Thank you for sharing your experiences! My interest is up there to with this subcompact guns carrying 10+ rounds. for the most part, i'm a minimalist when it comes to EDC so yeah, I like the hellcat, shield plus, p365, and ruger max9.
My G43 has been with me for 5 years now. Never let me down. It is great for non permissive environments and summer carry, when the 19 might be a bit much.
I’ve been carrying my hellcat and shield plus more but the g43 is still in my rotation with a taran tactical +1 mag and +2 for spare. Still trust it with my life !
hey thanks for the recommendation bro! I've actually been eyeing that holster for a while. I follow them on youtube and love lucas botkin's videos! I do have a holster right now (CYA off of amazon) but i'm looking to try out either the trex or tier 1 next that holsters gun and mag together (instead of separately like i'm sporting right now).
It’s 2024 now and I must say that i 💙 my Glock 43’s. I have two. I hate the Sig brand, especially the P365 series. I don’t care if those guns hold more than the 43’s (6+1). I carry a spare mag or two and love how light it feels in my pocket with smaller capacity magazines. Sometimes less is just better. FWIW, I also have a 42, 26, 43x and the larger sized Glock variants as well. But I always go back to a 43. It’s perfect.
Thank you so much for the recommendation. Currently, I have taran tactical base plates on there: a +1 and a +2 with an enhanced spring. It's been working well so far. I've heard some great things about Mag guts and will have to try it out sometime and make a video on it!
Nice!! I'm glad you like it. I added taran tactical +1 and +2 baseplates to my mags and like it more. I love Glock but i do feel like they need to release something that has more capacity with the same size as the G43.
@@lilricemuncher09 Glock 43x.. If you can find one that is, also.. Shield Arms S15 mags (flush mount 15 round mag), and an extra with a +5, if you can find them in stock
@@iR3J3CT_ great gun for sure. No doubt about that. I just don't want the grip to be that long personally. I do find the g43 to be a bit short but i think we can find a happy medium at least for me. I appreciate your suggestion though and i've seen some good stuff about shield arms.
Appreciate it! Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you like your 43. It's a solid gun for sure. I think it's getting outclassed by some of these other subcompacts with 10+ rounds. I added taran tactical base pads to my 43 and it's been working great. Still love mine also.
I just went to my dealer today and he had a used one(guy must of never shot it, still had the bronze grease in the slide) with trigicon night sights for 399. Safe to say I now own a glock 43 lol.
Glock wont make an extended mag for the G43 because they want you to buy the Glock 43X however there are some good aftermarket companies making extended mags and spacers that turns your G43 into a Glock 43X
The G43 was out for a while before the G43X came out but maybe that was a reason. I think that's a little dirty. Lol I'm running Taran Tactical baseplates +1 and +2 with my G43 and I love it. I should make an update video.. hmm..
The only smitten Weston handguns that are good today on a m&p a lot of policemen use them in the full size model in 40 S&w some of them use a 9 mm I would say that gun is made much better than the Glock 23 which holds 13 rounds the S&w hose 15 rounds also comes with 13 round magazines too much easier to take down and take care of but getting back to Glock you cannot beat them they've been here for 30 years now and the prices are not bad either the S&w is about the same price maybe $30 cheaper depending on where you get it the shield is mainly they're cheap version of a gun for instance Glock 26 you could use the same magazines as a Glock 19 but with S&w you really can't
Lil Rice Muncher Gaming np what’s your next tech vid on, if you haven’t already maybe you can get your hands on a ducky one 2 mini llama edition on eBay
Right now i'm looking at doing a comparison video between Razer's new deathadder v2 and old model, razer keycaps, and some other vids. Idk if you heard yet but Ducky is going to release a frozen llama mecha mini. I'm preordering it and plan on doing a giveaway with it!
3:25 not everybody has a full cleaning kit especially new owners and Glock is not me of the most popular guns for new owners because of well acclaimed it is and how dummy proof it is.
Thx for clearing your gun. Please do it as soon as you bring a gun out. Even if it is brand new and being unboxed. Please look at Vedder Holsters! I love them and they are worth checking out.
Can't dispute the modern reliability of Glocks but when it comes to the 43, there are so many great options for subcompacts for other brands. I really wish Glock would come out with an answer to this. They're losing market share to sig sauer, smith and wesson, springfield, etc. almost everyone else has a subcompact with 10+ rounds now 😑
Yeah I saw that promotion but I had already bought mine! The only promo I got to use was one with smith and wesson shield for $75 rebate. I already had a good deal for the shield so it was extremely cheap!
One thing I dont like about some arms manufacturers is that they ship their firearms with a cardboard box which is just bad, cus my made in china drill always comes in a case lol
G43 was my EDC but i recently changed to the springfield hellcat. Looking to go to the Shield plus soon too. It's hard to ignore the extra capacity for the same size subcompact!
I am currently carrying this every day and I love it. I've added a +1 base extension from Taran Tactical with some reluctance but it has not malfunctioned on me even once even when shooting it fast and pushing it hard. Spent about $120 for some Trijicon HD sights. I also have some talon grips on there. I usually carry a spare mag and when i don't, i feel a little undergunned. I'm about to switch to the springfield hellcat for that reason specifically.
@@mikewinchester3064 I've done a lot of research and I've accepted Federal HST as my carry round. I use the 150gr micro but have also carried 147 and 124gr HST. I have a friend that trains Dallas PD and they swear by Hornady actually. That's not enough to sway me though personally. I strongly suggest Federal HST and leave it at that. I've never heard of anyone having an issue and never encountered one myself.
I dont see a need for night sights on these subcompact guns. If you have to use this gun, more than likely its going to be close quarter shooting. Just my 2 cents. Save your money and buy an extra mag instead
I haven't had any issues with the finish. It is currently still my EDC but i'm about to switch to the Springfield Hellcat. My top 4 picks for my subcompacts: 1. Springfield Hellcat. 2. Sig Sauer P365 3. S&W M&P Shield 2.0 4. Glock 43
I wouldn’t say the 26 is outright better. Sure It has more capacity, more comfortable to hold for some people, and the mag compatibility but the 43 is single stack and easier to conceal. Some people prefer slimmer profiles. The g26 definitely has more advantages for most people if they don’t mind the double stack thickness. I personally prefer carrying single stack subcompacts and have bigger double stack guns for home defense and other uses.
Sold my 43 for the P365...boy what a great decision...that Shield is a better firearm than the Glock as well IMO...I feel you on similar style firearms...My home defense is the Sig P320 X-Carry to go with my 365 for CCW
I actually finally got to shoot the p365 a few weeks ago and i won't lie. I loved it and shot it really well. The 10 rounds and the x-ray sights for that price... unbeatable. My fear at this point is that it's been refreshed a few times already. I'm not sure if you've looked into it or not, but the p365 is actually on it's 3rd gen last time I checked and it hasn't been out long. I will 1000% buy one after the consensus comes out that it's reliable.
Lil Rice Muncher Gaming from my understanding the ones after July 2018 production should be good..mine is Feb 2019 production...500 rounds and no issues thus far.....Gen 4 Glocks had issues initially and they pulled through
@@RepentorPerish77 I would say you're probably good 👌 I may get one by the end of the year or hell maybe even this summer. Grabagun had them for only $469 a few weeks ago! we'll see. right now i'm pretty invested in and happy with the g43. I installed some trijicon hd's, talon grips, 4x tti basepads, and some other stuff already. i've heard of glock's issues back then but they've had a great track record as of recently and i've never had any issues personally.
@@RepentorPerish77 the resale value is pretty good with glocks but for sure i'm gonna lose a lot of money if i switch. I ain't trippin about that. it's just part of it. :) as far as my full size gun goes tho, i don't ever see myself moving away from the g45. I got that too with ameriglo sights and it's honestly my favorite 9mm ever. I don't see anything topping it right now. haha i might have to get used to two completely different pistols if i swap my subcompact g43 for that p365. oh well.
I'm going to take your comment in stride because that is good firearms etiquette and I will strive to demonstrate that. This is a brand new gun unboxed and never loaded with no ammunition in sight so I'm going to kindly ask for a pass this one time. :)
