I am a HUGE LOTR fan. I have absolutely always wanted to read the books and now that I’m turning 30 this is the year!! Thank you for this video I’m interested and looking at what collection I want!
It's great to see you in these later unboxing videos Matt! You seem way more comfortable and relaxed on camera than when you first started. Keep it up man, we all love you! And in particlar we always love an extra NOTR video in a week!!🎉😊
The blue set's the best. 👀👀 Anyhoo, off-topic but: In LOTRO, the Lore-master class update is in-development and I think I remember you - in a livestream - commenting on a friend Lore-master you were playing with how you 'like' that he's calling lightning underground/indoors, haha. Not sure if this is good news, good for immersion fans at least: Lightning Strike will now be locked behind Red line of that class (the 'elementalist' wizard-inspired specialization) while Blue (the Radagast-inspired spec) the and Yellow (the lores and crafts spec) will get a measly 'Spark' skill in place. 😅
It is if you’re not use to reading and its kinda full with information, sometimes overwhelming for some…but it has such an epic content..personally i had a blast reading it
@@Tadzioreik Yeah I hear it's great, just a tough read the way it's written compared to the other LOTR books. I met a few folks who admitted it was too hard for them so they only got half way through or listened to the audio books haha. I think I'll give it a shot though!
By the way the idea behind Juniper is making nice looking covers for standard editions of books. So the only thing they make is the cover and when you by complete books from them its them putting their covers on standard hardbacks.
Question: Could Morgoth give the Balrog's back their body/form after they had been killed. Which is why we seem to see more Balrogs then Tolkien said there may have been.
This is information that my wallet just didn't need 😂😅. Only because we have 2-3 copies of each already including a box set. But they aren't uniform in size so idk if the covers will work. Either way I love it so much.
Ya a girlfriend you nerd. Lol I'm just kidding. They have really detailed poster size maps of middle earth. With detailed accounts of all the different history happening in middle earth there absolutely beautiful and look great when framed or can put it inside a glass table like I did. Always interesting topics to talk about or learn with them
I'm guessing it's an American thing, cos here in the UK our books are uniform in size, height and width, so seeing the difference in height is just so odd.
I hate that the books are different sizes, but I really REALLY hate that they force me to put The Silmarillion at the end, instead of at the beginning. Nonsense. Easy not-purchase for me!
Lovely looking cover's and nice you can buy the dust covers separately. However, they really do milk Tolkien fans and importantly, why on earth are the books different sizes. I could not stand it on a display book case as they would be on.
*EDIT - It looks like the person I was replying to has had their comments deleted. This reply was not in response to hathgeja's original post* Without trying to sound rude… so what? Does it matter? It doesn’t ruin the experience of enjoying Tolkien. Do we have to hold ourselves to a non-negotiable 100% accuracy on all things at all times policy? Or can we all just enjoy something together, as a community? Hold up a copy of Fellowship to anyone in the world, ask them to identify the object, and they will say “That’s a book”, they won’t say “That’s a volume.”
I'm really surprised that with a series that's so majestic as Lord of the Rings or even The Silmarillion and The Hobbit that the book covers of nearly all the editions I've ever seen are so plain with no detail in the illustrations. I'd rather have the movie posters on the covers of the books rather than a few strokes of blue paint that are supposed to be mountains. Tolkien's works deserve better. For stories that are so creative and imaginative, the covers of the books couldn't be more stark and uninspired.
