I can almost guarantee you that the ten will be all you need. I heard the old school ten solo x and let me tell you that it drug my American bass 15 in a custom box. I'm glad kicker brought them back. Kicker has a fighting chance with the solo x. Their q series is hell too.
Price is a little brutal, but the sub looks legit, fo sho. 8 or 18 would definitely be appreciated for small application or SQ. BTW, you look like a proper cliche carpenter with that nice double pocket shirt.😁
imo the solo x 10 doesn’t dwarf the sundown zv6 10, when i unboxed my solo x 12 and put it side by side next to me x10v2 yes it was bigger but it wasn’t like “wow this thing makes my 10 look like an 8”, nope it was bigger but surprisingly the x10 is a beefy sub to and the zv6 is quite bigger than the x series so i can imagine side by side next to the solo x 10 they should be similar in size just bigger cone area for the kicker. but for me its kicker all day i love the way my solo x 12 sounds and performs over my sundown🤘🏼 keep up the great work mb and show what these kickers can do they will impress a lot more people that bash them.
I cannot wait to one day run these. I ran L7 10s back in the early 2000s thru 08ish. I had 4 once and hit a 150.2 on basshead cd music track back in 04. But yeah ran couple 12s. Built a 2 10in and then a 1 10in parallel 6th order enclosures and they sounded phenomenal. The L7s always did me good. I listened to rock and alternative and man..some Tool or Pantera.. man oh man...just utterly pounded. The 10s are by far my favorite size subwoofer for rock music!
Mtx had that technology back in the late 90s or early 2000s with the MTX RFL152 it weighed something like 87lbs It was the baddest sub at the time it would handle 2 MTX 18000.1 D amps one on each coil
Question! So if other manufacturers don’t follow the cutout of standard 8’s, why don’t kicker go outside the regular thinking of keeping a 10” square to the regular 10” square? What if, the 8” solo is a 7.9375” side to side?
Doubt its bigger than a sundown ZV6 10 or the night shade. The X has more cone area and im sure will need a bigger box because of the more cone area. And its definitely not going to have more throw because that spider is so small it limits throw.
@MBEnclosuresLLC I've seen the Xs destroy themselves when trying to achieve too much xmax. If playing rated power they good subs and play all day. When pushed is when they start to show flaws like any sub. Sundown ZV6 is a 95lb sub, way bigger. 35mm xmax 70% BL. More throw. And the night shade is a better sub than the Z series. And of course the SSD sub is out there too.
if you have the space definitely go with the 15 way more cone area but if your limited on space go with the 2 10s with a good size box for them cause they are gonna need it. and if built right in a smaller space they will be phenomenal same with the 15 if the box is built correctly for it
@@areasonablethought610 15 has more come area so it’s gonna be moving more air but like i said if it’s in a small cabin 2 10s would perform better and easily push more air around too with the right box

@@NoName-gk2sj i currently run my solo x 12 on a jp23 1.5 at .5ohm in a well built box for it and it hits so good but with 2 you should push them easily with a good 5k efficient amp at .5 to get the most out of and have less box rise so the amp and sub can perform even better
