Korg still sticks with the synth they made over decade ago. No the other synths are worth buying except a Minilogue

Great synth! I’m considering MS20 mini, but I’m hesitating because of the noise bleeding issues. Korg solved noise bleeding issues with FA version, but it’s unavailable in majority of EU stores. And there is improved version with extra features as a rack module of MS20, but it’s without keyboard, so it doesn’t have iconic MS20 look. I’m honestly asking, did Korg solve noise bleeding issues on MS20 Mini, or you did it alone with EQ and VSTs for this video and how difficult is to get rid off of the noise? And maybe a suggestion to Korg. Make an MS20 full size with keyboard, but with extra features like in the rack version such as the Oscillator hard sync, FM etc. and in addition it would be handy to have tempo sync with LFO as well. And BTW, why did Korg stop with selling ARP Odyssey Mini? I have Korg app of ARP Odyssey on iPad and I would with pleasure buy Mini hardware, but they are unavailable (used synths I don’t buy, especially if they are not premium synths built from premium materials). MS20 Mini is still option for me, because of the compact size, just I don’t know how many troubles would I have with noise bleeding, so maybe Korg could make another new version of MS20 mini, without the noise bleeding issue. And one more thing. Yamaha and Roland have their flagship workstations on the market, yet there is no successor of Kronos. Nautilus is great, but it’s based on the old technology from Kronos. I honestly hope Korg will again make the best workstation on the market. And please include in new workstation improved MS20 engine and add ARP Odyssey engine as well and in addition please add Wavestate, Modwave and Opsix synth engines as well! They are great synths! And naturally improve all 9 existing engines from the Kronos. And one more thing. Yamaha Montage M and Roland Fantom don’t have physical modeling synth engine, comparing to Kronos/Nautilus. And in general there is no proper physical modeling hardware synth on the market. So adding proper physical modeling synth engine to new workstation would make it special. I’m really hardly waiting for Korg’s answer to Yamaha and Roland on the workstation market. P.S. Great short video presentation of MS20 Mini! :)

Hey! Late response but chipping in regardless: The noise bleed issue on the ms20 comes from the original rev 1 filter and isnt a QC issue. It is something related to the components/gain-staging of the filter that causes noise bleed. The MS20 FS has the issue too actually, but it disappears when you switch to the rev 2 filter. Rev 2 fixed the issue (what im assuming is the gain staging) but as a result has different sound that is far less saturated (most people favor the rev 1). I personally have never had a problem with the noise because you only really hear it if your oscillators are turned down super low (like less than halfway) and there’s no reason to do that (unless youre trying to accentuate the noise bleed ig). I dont think it’s a deal breaker if you’re looking to get one. In my experience you never hear it on 99% of patches. If it is concerning enough, there are other more hifi mono synths like their arp odyssey mini or even the moog grandmother you could look into, although those are more expensive. Hope this helps!

@@coolguy2783 Thank you very much for the response! ARP Odyssey Mini is unfortunately unavailable. You can buy only DIY version, but it’s a bit pricey and for that price I would rather buy ARP 2600 M from Korg, which is 250€ cheaper (in Thomann), so in addition I could buy SQ1 or SQ64 and some other extra stuff for the difference in price. But MS20 is such a cool and iconic synth. I like the sounds (particularly the aggressive sounds) that I get from Korg’s iMS20 app on iPad, so the real thing for me is definitely a must have! Thanks for clarification! 🙂
